is, a meditative concentration that is well distinguished by one-pointedness of mind, which is encompassed by the maturation of meditative absorption. If divided, there are four due to the distinctions of the four concentrations. Among these, the first three have three realms of existence, such as the Brahma realm, each having three. The fourth has three abodes of ordinary beings and five abodes of noble ones, totaling eight. The second is the formless realm. Its definition is: From the perspective of object and aspect, it is the one-pointedness of mind that necessarily arises from the lower ground, together with its concomitants, or is encompassed by any of its ripened results. If divided, there are meditative absorption and formless existence. The first has the definition: the one-pointedness of mind arising from effort, which is devoid of the perception of form. If divided in terms of essence, the first three have pure ones, afflicted ones, and uncontaminated ones, each having three. The fourth has two because of abandoning the uncontaminated. Among the pure ones, the first three have all four aspects, while the fourth has three because of abandoning the special aspect. Among the afflicted ones, there is no case where views predominate, because the formless realm does not rely on direct perception, so it does not generate the aspect of views. Therefore, there are three others. Their definitions should also be inferred from the former and understood accordingly. Furthermore, from the perspective of the ground, there are four: the meditative absorption of the sphere of infinite space is: the one-pointedness of mind that necessarily arises from the perception of form, together with its concomitants, which is not separated from the perception of space. If divided, there are the approximation and the actual practice. The former is easy, and the latter is: the one-pointedness of mind that is separated from the perception of form and in which the clear appearance is perfected on the object of space, together with its concomitants. The sphere of infinite consciousness is: the one-pointedness of mind that necessarily arises from the perception of space, together with its concomitants, which is not separated from the perception of consciousness. If divided, the approximation is easy, and the actual practice is: the one-pointedness, etc., that is separated from the perception of space and in which the clear appearance is perfected on the object of consciousness. The sphere of nothingness is: the one-pointedness of mind that necessarily arises from the perception of the sphere of infinite consciousness, which is not separated from the perception of nothingness. If divided, the approximation is easy, and the actual practice is: the one-pointedness, etc., in which the clear appearance is perfected on the object of nothing to be apprehended. The meditative absorption of the peak of existence is: the apprehended

Also, it will definitely arise from the consciousness of having no thought whatsoever, inseparable from the concentration of thought that is neither thought nor non-thought, etc. In terms of classification, the approximation is easy, and the actual practice is: a one-pointed mind with complete clarity appearing on the object of neither thought nor non-thought, together with its concomitants. The formless realm of existence also has four: the sphere of infinite space, consciousness, nothingness, and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. The formless existence is completely distinguished by the one-pointed mind included in the fruition of the absorption of the sphere of infinite space. The other three are also applied in the same way. In terms of classification, each one is further divided into four: high and good, high and bad, low and good, low and bad. Among them, high refers to long life, low refers to short life, good refers to having little affliction and no sensation, and bad refers to the opposite. Secondly, the characteristic of the path of meditation that transcends the world is: the path of meditation has the aspect of the four truths. In terms of classification, there are two types: those that are in accordance with the aspect of higher vision and those that are in accordance with the aspect of tranquility and insight. They are: the wisdom of discriminating the Dharma that transcends the world, and the Samadhi that corresponds to it. The first has four: knowing suffering, origin, cessation, and path. Combine these with "the wisdom that has already seen the nature of the truth of suffering and makes it habitual." Each of these is further divided into two: the aspect of Dharma-knowledge and the aspect of subsequent-knowledge, that is: the wisdom that takes the nature of the four truths as its object, and the wisdom that takes the wisdom that transcends the world as its object. The second, which is in accordance with the aspect of tranquility and insight, has six meditation grounds, and includes the first three formless absorptions, totaling nine. Furthermore, each of the three paths, great, medium, and small, is divided into three, which is clearly explained in the text. In addition, there are four paths for abandoning each aspect of what is to be abandoned: the path of application, the path of non-interruption, the path of liberation, and the path of distinction. In order, they refer to: which path diminishes the faults of what is to be abandoned and leads to the path of non-interruption, which path destroys what is to be abandoned and leads to the path of liberation, which path manifests the liberation of the cessation of what is to be abandoned, and other things to be abandoned.
