Beings who enjoy the ripening results. The gods of the formless realm are beings who enjoy the ripening results thrown by unwavering karma. (Those two are also referred to as unwavering, with more emphasis on insight and more emphasis on quiescence.) Second, dividing into eight from the perspective of faults, such as birth being suffering, etc., is easy to understand. Third, dividing into three from the perspective of essence, such as the suffering of suffering, etc., has already been explained. Fourth, dividing from the perspective of the two truths, there are two types of suffering: the suffering of relative truth and the suffering of ultimate truth. In order, the former is the nature of unpleasantness that even children can recognize, and the latter is the nature of unpleasantness that only noble ones can recognize. Third, there are four explanations of the meaning of characteristics. Impermanence is: as an antidote to the perversion of permanence, it should be completely determined as the nature of change. Classification: Although it can be divided into twelve types, such as the characteristic of non-existence, it can be summarized into two types: momentary destruction and continuous destruction. The aspect of suffering is: as an antidote to the perversion of purity and happiness, it should be completely determined as the aspect of unpleasantness. The aspect of selflessness is: as an antidote to the perversion of clinging to the nature of the aggregates as self, it should be completely determined as merely dependent origination. The aspect of emptiness is: as an antidote to the perversion of associating the aggregates with a self of other meaning, it should be completely determined as not being controlled by the self. Furthermore, from the perspective of the selflessness of phenomena, there are three emptinesses: the emptiness of self-characteristic, the emptiness of non-existence, and the emptiness of self-nature. The first is: what is empty, the nature of the completely imputed is empty. The second is: what is empty, the nature of the other-dependent is empty. The third is: what is emptiness, the nature of the thoroughly established is emptiness. The completely imputed is: the nature of falsely imputing self and phenomena onto the object of the other-dependent. The other-dependent is: the conceptual thought that arises from the seeds of the alaya consciousness, having the appearance of both grasper and grasped. The thoroughly established is: the nature of phenomena of the other-dependent itself being empty of the completely imputed, or any of the wisdoms that directly realize it.

These should be known. Secondly, regarding the truth of the origin (of suffering), there are three aspects: definition, example, and explanation of the definition. First: the truth that should be abandoned by completely cutting off the origin as the cause, the arising, and the condition of intense arising. Second: the truth of the origin of affliction and karma. Regarding the truth of the origin, there are three aspects: definition, example, and explanation of the definition. First: the truth that should be abandoned by completely cutting off the origin as the cause, the arising, and the condition of intense arising. Second: the two, affliction and the origin of karma. First, regarding affliction, there are four aspects: definition, classification, synonyms of names, and types to be abandoned. First: that which makes the mind extremely unpeaceful. Second: the distinctions of six or five views, totaling ten, have already been explained. Third, there are twenty-four such as fetters. First, the definition of fetters is: the affliction that connects to the suffering of existence. There are nine types of classification. The fetter of attachment is: due to attachment to a pleasant object, suffering arises. The fetter of anger is: due to intensely tormenting the mind towards an unpleasant object, suffering arises. The fetter of pride is: due to the mind being conceited, suffering arises. The fetter of ignorance is: due to being deluded about the nature of reality, suffering arises. The fetter of views is: due to seeking liberation through wrong views and clinging to them, suffering arises. The fetter of holding as supreme is: due to clinging to wrong methods of liberation, suffering arises. The fetter of doubt is: due to having doubts about the Three Jewels, suffering arises. The fetter of jealousy is: due to the mind being disturbed by the perfections of others, suffering arises. The fetter of miserliness is: due to clinging to possessions, suffering arises. Bondage is: that which binds the mind to a wrong object. That is, there are three types of bondage, such as the bondage of desire, which, in order, bind the mind to a wrong object due to attachment, hatred, and delusion. Latent tendencies are: afflictions that are the cause of the three feelings, and are the negative conditions that cause them to increase. Near afflictions are: afflictions that bring the mind near to
