will become without suffering. Regarding this, in Jambudvipa, Purvavideha, and Aparagodaniya, these three continents, there are the acts of taking a wife, giving a daughter in marriage, and receiving a bride. In Uttarakuru, since those beings do not have the concept of possession and complete possession, they do not have the act of marrying each other, etc. Just like the situation in the three continents, the ghosts with great magical powers, and the gods of the desire realm, except for the Paranirmitavasavartin and Nirmanarati gods, are similar to this. Among the gods who enjoy in the desire realm, the goddesses do not have the condition of being born from a womb. Therefore, the gods belonging to the retinue of the Four Great Kings will appear on the shoulders or laps of their fathers and mothers, disguised as children of five years old. The Trayastrimsa gods are like children of six years old. The Yama gods are like children of seven years old. The Tusita gods are like children of eight years old. The Nirmanarati gods are like children of nine years old. The Paranirmitavasavartin gods will appear on the shoulders or laps, disguised as children of ten years old. The enjoyment of sexual intercourse has been explained. Next, the classification of the modes of birth is as follows: namely, the three modes of birth in the desire realm. Some beings abide closely in the desire realm, and those who abide closely in the desire realm also have dominion over what is independent, such as: all humans, and starting from the gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings up to the Tusita gods, this is the first mode of birth in the desire realm. Some beings emanate desire, and these emanations are able to emanate and also have dominion over what is independent, such as the gods of the Nirmanarati. The gods of the Nirmanarati, for their own sake, accomplish the emanation of desire, but not for the sake of others. Therefore, those gods only have dominion over what is independent through their own emanated desires, such as: the gods of the Paranirmitavasavartin. These gods are able to accomplish emanation for their own sake and also for the sake of others. Therefore, because those gods, in relation to their own emanations, exist in a state smaller than the heart, others are able to emanate

Those who possess power control the powerful, therefore they are called Paranirmitavasavartin. They do not rely solely on the desires transformed by others, but also on their own transformations. This is the third of the three ways in which desire arises. The three ways in which pleasure arises are: Some beings are moistened in body by the joy and pleasure that arises from solitude, such as the gods of the first dhyana; this is the first way in which pleasure arises. Some beings are also moistened in body by the joy and pleasure that arises from samadhi, such as the gods of the second dhyana. This is the second way in which pleasure arises. Some beings are also moistened in body by pleasure without joy, such as the gods of the third dhyana. This is the third way in which pleasure arises. Why distinguish the three ways in which desire arises from the ways in which pleasure arises? The answer is: because there is seeking of desire, seeking of existence, and seeking of brahmacharya. Those samanas or brahmins who engage in seeking desire do so entirely for these three ways in which desire arises, neither more nor less. Those samanas and brahmins who seek existence as a cause of pleasure do so mostly for these three ways in which pleasure arises. Those who engage in seeking the meaning of peaceful arising, which is neither suffering nor pleasure, are fewer than the fewest in the world. Therefore, the ways of arising are not distinguished before that. Those samanas and brahmins who engage in seeking brahmacharya do so entirely for the sake of the undefiled realm. Some, due to false complete imputation, engage in seeking a false brahmacharya for the sake of the immovable meaning, and for the sake of the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, which should be understood as not being the unsurpassed brahmacharya. The unsurpassed is for the sake of the undefiled realm. The distinction of bodies is as follows: for example, the bodies obtained by beings in the three realms.
