It is the time of that which is definitely non-existent. Except for the supreme mundane dharma, since that is momentary by nature, in all cases, it is only the time to generate the path of seeing in that very lifetime, therefore there is no need to consider whether it is definite or indefinite. The third is the aspect of liberation, and those do not degenerate from the great, because they are stable. The minor and intermediate aspects of decisive discrimination degenerate, therefore they do not degenerate from the great accumulation path. Just as one may degenerate from the coming back, but not from the stream enterer. All arising is manifestation. It does not degenerate from the imprints, because there is no need to generate again the roots of virtue previously generated in nirvana. Considering the aspect of small liberation, the Bhagavan said: 'Whoever has the great mundane right view will not go to bad destinies even in a thousand lifetimes.' Also, there are four aspects of liberation: belonging to the occasion, transformed from faith, transformed into particularly desiring, and transformed from attainment. The first is from having desire for virtuous dharmas up to acting for the sake of liberation. The second is whoever has faith in the teachings that are fully endowed with liberation. The third is having much attention directed towards liberation with joy and faith. The fourth is whoever is certain to generate the decisive discrimination aspect in that very lifetime. There are six aspects of decisive discrimination: conforming, distinct, fully realizing, completely transforming, one lifetime, and one seat. The first is whatever small virtue arises as the very first root of virtue focused on truth. The second is that which becomes intermediate because it has become the supreme dharma through bliss. The third is when the realization of truth becomes a large part in that very lifetime. The fourth is completely transforming those of uncertain lineage into special enlightenment, and completely transforming those of the lineage of solitary Buddhas to manifest complete enlightenment without a teacher in another lifetime. The fifth is when truth will be manifestly realized in that very lifetime. The sixth is when truth will be manifestly realized on that very seat.

Chapter Four: Differentiating through Application, Following Faith refers to the completion of the Accumulation Path, as indicated by "whoever accumulates." Dull faculties refer to faculties such as faith, or the faculty of wisdom, being unclear. Therefore, one cannot contemplate the meaning of truth on one's own, but follows the teachings of others to realize the true reality, and thus engages in the path. This is called Following Faith because one enters the path through the power of faith. Following Dharma refers to faculties such as faith, or the faculty of wisdom, being sharp or clear. One analyzes and contemplates the Dharma that one considers to be true, and engages in the path to directly realize the truth. This is called Following Dharma because one enters the path by following the Dharma of the scriptures through the power of wisdom. This is established from the Heat stage of the Application Path up to the fifteenth moment of the Seeing Path. These stages are entered in order to directly realize the truth. If these individuals have not abandoned the sixth category of afflictions of the desire realm, they have entered the Stream-Enterer fruit. If they have abandoned the sixth category, they have entered the Once-Returner fruit. If they have abandoned the ninth category, it should be understood that they have entered the Non-Returner fruit. The Treasury of Knowledge states: "Those fifteen moments are the Seeing Path, for the unseen to be seen. In those with sharp and dull faculties, following faith and dharma." This explains that it is established only on the Seeing Path. Why are those with dull and sharp faculties not called Followers of Faith and Followers of Dharma at the sixteenth moment? Because at that time, there is no need to rely on following individuals or the Dharma, but one is skilled in meditating on the path through the power of one's own direct realization. Chapter Five: Differentiating the Fruits. What is the nature of the fruit? What is its aspect? Based on what ground? In what realm is it attained? Here, the term "fruit" refers to the fruit in the manner of a renunciate, because it is the supreme of fruits. The manner of a renunciate is encompassed by the unpolluted path and the uninterrupted path. This destroys the immoral conduct of
