The conduct in the desire realm is fourfold, and the uncontaminated is twofold. Among these nineteen dharmas, what arises as entry and subsequent arising? For example, the merit of conduct in the desire realm, arising from exertion, the entry and subsequent arising, except for emanation mind, the six dharmas of its own realm can arise, it should be understood this way. Because emanation mind in all cases is only the entry and subsequent arising of pure meditative concentration, it does not arise from the mind of the desire realm. Emanation minds arising from birth and karma, etc., can be included in those arising from maturation, etc., so there is no fault. Merit from exertion in the form and formless realms, and the uncontaminated of learners can also arise, when does it arise? It is when one abides in meditative stabilization with and without contamination in this life. Afflictions of conduct in the form and formless realms can also arise, when does it arise? It is when one transmigrates from here and takes rebirth in those realms. The nature of the non-learner's uncontaminated, transcendent of the world, because it is only the subsequent arising of vajra-like meditative stabilization (རྡོ་རྗེ་ལྟ་བུའི་ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་,金刚喻定,vajropamasamādhi,Diamond-like Samadhi), it does not arise from the mind of the desire realm. The nature of worldly conventional wisdom can also arise. Besides emanation mind, the subsequent arising of the other six minds of the desire realm, also, besides emanation mind, the six dharmas of its own realm arise. In the entry of merit born from birth and maturation, the afflictions of the two higher realms (form and formless realms) can arise, at the time of death. In the subsequent arising of emanation mind, only one's own mind, emanation mind, and merit from exertion in the form realm arise, because emanations are produced by abiding in meditative concentration, and also withdrawn after abiding in meditative concentration. In the subsequent arising of merit from exertion in the form realm, the six dharmas of its own realm, and merit from exertion in the desire realm, and emanation minds arise, when does it arise? It is when one arises from the meditative absorption of the form realm in this life. Merit from exertion in the formless realm, and the uncontaminated of learners can also arise, in its subsequent arising, when abiding in that meditative stabilization. Afflictions of the desire and formless realms can also arise, when does it arise? It is when one transmigrates from the form realm and takes rebirth in the higher and lower realms.

At the time of death. After the naturally born virtue and the ripened-born, the five dharmas of one's own realm arise, except for the emanation mind. Afflicted beings of the upper and lower realms also arise, at that and that time of death. From afflicted beings, except for the emanation mind, the five dharmas of one's own realm arise, and afflicted beings of the upper and lower realms also arise, at the time of death and transference. The virtuous application-born of the desire realm is also possible, when arising from the samadhi of afflicted beings. The emanation mind, like the emanation mind of the desire realm, only becomes the cause of one's own realm and the virtuous application-born. From conduct, except for the emanation mind, there are only the five dharmas of one's own realm. From the virtuous application-born of the formless realm, there are the four dharmas of one's own realm, and when entering samadhi in transcendence, there is also the virtuous application-born of the form realm. There, when entering samadhi on the noble path, there is also the śaikṣa (learner) without outflows. Then, when dying and transmigrating to the lower two realms, there are also the afflicted beings of the desire and form realms. At that time, one should also know that those will also arise after the other three. From the naturally born virtue and the ripened-born, there are the four dharmas of one's own realm. From afflicted beings, there are the four dharmas of one's own realm, and when arising from the samadhi of afflicted beings, there is also the virtuous application-born of the desire and form realms. From the śaikṣa (learner) without outflows, there are one's own realm and the virtuous application-born of each of the three realms, and the aśaikṣa (non-learner) without outflows. From the aśaikṣa (non-learner) without outflows, there are one's own realm and the virtuous application-born of the three realms, when arising from that. In this way, one should also extensively calculate for the nine grounds, in order to increase the correct knowledge of each of the confidences. Those minds that arise one after another are caused by the ten powers, like this: the power of familiarity, the power of intention, the power of application, the power of samadhi, the power of throwing, the power of cause, the power of object, the power of mindfulness, the power of attention, and the power of connection. Among these, the power of familiarity has three aspects: small, medium, and large. The causes of entering, abiding, and arising from samadhi are...
