Clairvoyance of others' minds is also of four types: clairvoyance obtained by birth, such as that of gods and nagas; conceptualists believe that one can know the changes in others' minds from the appearances of body and speech; clairvoyance arising from mantras, knowing others' minds through the power of secret mantras; clairvoyance arising from meditation, the power of yogis is counted as supernormal cognition. The fourth, the faculty of remembering past lives: associated with meditative stabilization and wisdom that remembers many previous lives of oneself and others. As it is said: With the direct perception of remembering past lives, one can also remember one life. From two, three lives up to hundreds of thousands of lives can also be remembered. Thus. Remembering past lives is also of three types: that obtained by birth, such as that of gods and hell beings; that arising from karma, such as people naturally remembering past lives; that arising from meditation, such as the supernormal cognition of yogis. The fifth, the divine eye: seeing all subtle and coarse forms of kalpas and non-kalpas, arising from meditation, related to the form contained in the earth element of meditative absorption. The difference between the divine eye and this (physical eye) is: the former is effortlessly accomplished from the maturation of previous virtuous deeds, while the latter arises from the present life's practice of meditation and direct action. The ancients believed that there was a difference in location: the former is death and rebirth, and the latter is the object of form, which is unreasonable, because both are the objects of both, and separate explanations are because they are meant to represent each other. The divine ear and the divine eye are both related to form, and their direct perception is: the meditative stabilization and wisdom that are the cause of them, or the wisdom that arises in the realm of eye and ear consciousness that depends on them. The sutra says: Such a pure and superhuman divine eye knows the death and rebirth of beings, and even goes to happy and unhappy realms according to their karma. The divine eye, like the divine ear, is also of three types. The sixth, the exhaustion of defilements: the meditative stabilization of knowing as it is the method of abandoning the afflictive obscurations and the obscurations to knowledge, and the liberation of abandoning them.

These are samadhi and wisdom. It is said that manifesting the wisdom of direct perception, which precedes non-arising, is accomplished. Second, the cause: The first five kinds of clairvoyance rely solely on the actual mind of samadhi and not on others, because the preparatory stages have less calm abiding, and the formless realms have less insight, so they are not suitable as a basis for accomplishing special qualities. The last one relies on the six samadhi grounds, the form realm and the first three formless realms, because by relying on them, one can attain the fruit of an arhat. The physical basis is the first five, practiced by humans of the three continents and gods of the desire realm. The last one is practiced based on the support of all three realms. Third, the function: The first one, by showing various kinds of miracles, makes the non-believers generate respect and great faith. The second one, knowing the virtuous and non-virtuous speech of others, encourages them and makes them happy. The third one, knowing all the virtuous and non-virtuous thoughts of others, gives good advice. The last three, abandoning the extremes of permanence and annihilation, without pride in the exhaustion of defilements, skillfully teach the Middle Way. By benefiting sentient beings in this way and perfecting the accumulations, these are the causes for perfecting omniscience. All six of these are of the nature of conventional knowledge, therefore they are only worldly. The first five, which exist in the minds of children and learners, are contaminated, while those that exist in the minds of non-learners are purely uncontaminated. The sixth one exists only in the minds of non-learners, therefore it is purely uncontaminated. The first three are only clairvoyance and not wisdom, while the last three are both clairvoyance and wisdom, because they are the antidote to the ignorance of the three times. Fourth, the meaning of the words: The yogi who possesses these, when the time is right, either to show it to others, or to universally benefit others, or to ask questions and answer them, directly knows, therefore it is called direct knowledge. Fifth, the necessity: Without focusing on the ultimate truth, but knowing the characteristics as they are in the conventional truth,
