The realm of. Among them, the negation of children's clinging to the aggregates as a whole self is substantial existence; the Holy Ones merely nominally designate form and other phenomena as persons, which are the two types of person-designation existence. These are merely clinging, and the conceptualizations of these are also merely conceptualizations of clinging. Secondly, regarding what is to be enjoyed, there are two types: those included in the direction of all afflictions and those included in the direction of complete purification. The conceptualization of these in general is merely the conceptualization of the object of grasping, but if one separates and distinguishes them, they will become three categories depending on the situation. Thirdly, the way they become characteristics is: In the four paths of application, in the manner described above, they possess the nature of the four conceptualizations of grasper and grasped. Therefore, these are defiled by these conceptualizations, because the defilement of a Bodhisattva is conceptualization. Therefore, the four conceptualizations of grasper and grasped are the distinguishing characteristics of the Bodhisattva's path of application alone among the Bodhisattva's path of application and the path of application of Hearers and Solitary Realizers, because the Bodhisattva's path of application possesses defilement, while the other, even if it exists, does not possess it. That is to say, the paths of application of Hearers and Solitary Realizers are manifest clinging to the sixteen aspects of ignorance, etc., in the Four Noble Truths, so those that focus on suffering and origin are defiled object-grasping conceptualizations, and those that focus on cessation and path are purified object-grasping conceptualizations, and all are manifest clinging to the non-self of persons. Therefore, it is in the form of refuting the conceptualization of clinging to substance. Therefore, although these possess the nature of the conceptualizations of grasper and grasped, they do not possess defilement, because manifest clinging to impermanence and other phenomena is not an obstacle to one's own enlightenment. Therefore, the teacher said: Even if these are mixed, they are established as arising unmixed. If you say that the path of application of Hearers and Solitary Realizers is not also explained as something to be abandoned through meditation? Answer: That is to be abandoned from the aspect related to afflictive obscurations, but not from the aspect related to conceptualization, so there is no fault. Therefore, the way in which conceptualization becomes a characteristic, the teacher's view is not reversed.

It is just as it is said. Those who think that thoughts have the form of refutation, and explain that by clinging to the aspect of selflessness through the four paths of application, it is more excellent than the paths of application of hearers and solitary realizers, this becomes a repetition with the characteristics of form. Those who think that thoughts have the form of establishment, and explain that they are more excellent because they are related to what is to be abandoned, this is also unreasonable. Because these thoughts are said to be what is to be abandoned on the paths of seeing and meditation, and it is impossible for the path of application to have what is to be abandoned, and if the path of application also has what is to be abandoned, then what is to be abandoned would not necessarily be one of the two, the path of seeing and the path of meditation. Second, the classification: the fundamental classification is the four kinds of grasping and apprehending thoughts to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of meditation, which become eight kinds. Each of these is divided into large, medium, and small, each with nine kinds, and due to the difference of the three realms, it becomes one hundred and eight kinds. Third, the determination of number: the object to be examined is determined to be the two, the grasped and the grasper. The grasped is also divided into the afflicted and the pure. The grasper is also divided into substance and imputation, because things are also definite, so the thoughts with that as their object are also determined to be four. Fourth, the determination of order: the four parts of definite discrimination are the order of meaning. These here are the basis of distinction for the four kinds of thoughts. Therefore, the order of distinction is established by virtue of the basis of distinction. Fifth, the way to abandon with antidotes is that the coarse, manifest ones are abandoned below the eighth ground, and the subtle, latent ones are abandoned by the wisdom of the tenth ground. Second, regarding the meaning of the limbs, there are three parts: the summary statement, the detailed explanation, and the way it accords with the path of application. First, the general connection, and the explanation of the individual meanings, two parts. First, the four kinds of thoughts are also endowed with, and so on. Second, two parts. First, the brief explanation of the grasped thought, two parts: the root and the commentary. First, the basis of classification of the grasped thought. There are two types of classification number. The basis of classification is based on mere things, and its antidote is based on the complete purification and so on. The grasped thought based on mere things and purification has nine types each, respectively, due to the difference of the nine objects such as ignorance and aggregates...
