Etc. The union of the mother of the tenth bhumi is a skillful means, because for the manifestation of the ten realms, such as surpassing the enemy, it is the union of knowing the time and the non-time. For the obstacles, etc., it is the skillful means of surpassing the enemy, because it is the union of surpassing the obstacles of the second and third bhumis. It is the skillful means of dwelling without dwelling, because it is the union of meditating on all dharmas as equality. It is the skillful means of doing benefit for others by the force of previous aspirations, because it is the union of accomplishing the aspiration to benefit others as appropriate. It is the unique skillful means, because it is the union of being extremely familiar with the instructions for the benefit of others. It is the skillful means of not grasping onto all dharmas, because it is the union of the pure white dharmas of the north with the wisdom of non-objectification. It is the skillful means of not objectifying persons and dharmas, because it is the union of abiding in the emptiness of the gate of liberation. It is the skillful means of having no signs of elaboration, because it is the union of abiding in the signlessness of the gate of liberation. It is the skillful means of having no desire for contaminated dharmas, because it is the non-union of abiding in the wishlessness of the gate of liberation. It is the skillful means of the sign of non-retrogression, because it is the union of speaking of the dharma of non-retrogression in accordance with one's own realization, so that others believe that one does not regress. It is the immeasurable skillful means, because it is the union of knowing all the objects of skillful means. This is the meaning of the fourth chapter.

Ra. The first part of the wisdom of the ninth ground, which is divided into four parts, is the subject. It is the peak of signs, because it is the pure wisdom that obtains twelve signs, such as seeing all phenomena as dreams even in dreams. Like Jambudvipa, etc. The second part of the wisdom of the ninth ground is the subject. It is the peak of increase, because it is the pure wisdom that possesses the sixteen kinds of merit that are mentioned here. Like the three omniscient ones, etc. The third part of the wisdom of the ninth ground is the subject. It is the peak of definite manifestation, because it is the pure wisdom that perfects the qualities of the three knowledges with wisdom, and with compassion never abandons the benefit of sentient beings at all times. Like the four continents, etc. The fourth part of the wisdom of the ninth ground is the subject. It is the peak of abiding in the mind, because it is the pure wisdom that possesses many merits that are far superior to the number measured by the three thousand worlds. According to the noble ones, the four paths of joining, such as heat, etc., are made into subjects, and are successively the peaks of signs and increase, as well as stability and abiding in the mind, because it is abandoning pure wisdom and establishing the previous grounds. Like entering and returning, etc. The Bodhisattva's thought of Devadatta, who is attached to the fruits of the Bodhisattva path as something to be taken, and to those of the Hearers as something to be abandoned, is the subject. Successively, it is the grasping thought of entering and the grasping thought of returning, because it is such a thought. Each one has ninefold divisions, because there is no object as one is attached to, because it appears as inverted. The reason is that it enters without being related to the object of attachment. Like the difference between ordinary beings and noble ones, etc. The person in the continuum of an ordinary being who grasps at substance, is the subject. It is the thought of grasping at substance, because it is the thought of grasping at the enjoyer as substance. The person in the continuum of a noble being who grasps at imputation, is the subject. It is the thought of grasping at permanence, because it is the thought of grasping at the enjoyer as merely imputation. Each one has ninefold divisions, because there are ninefold objects. Grasping at truth is not established, because the meaning as one grasps it is not established. Finished.
