Because it is permanent. If it pervades all places, then you should be aimed at simultaneously by all hearing consciousnesses that possess the complete conditions for hearing. Because you are a permanent phenomenon that pervades all places accessible to hearing consciousness. If it is said that the sound of intelligence is an object produced by the aggregation of causes, and there is no fault because it does not take other things as objects, then by what causes will you be aggregated, or will you not be aggregated? Because you are immutable. If it is said that even if the sound of intelligence is not produced by the aggregation of causes, the sense faculties, being well aggregated by causes, will hear the sound of intelligence, so there is no fault, then the ear faculty produced by the aggregation of causes, you should also hear all the sounds of intelligence. Because that sound of intelligence pervades all the places that you can hear. If it is said that because of the difference of being well aggregated by causes, the sense faculties are different, therefore the ear faculty is certain to hear only one thing, that is, each sound, then, ear faculty, how can you hear the cacophony of many sounds, such as poetry and pottery drums, all at once? Because you are aggregated by causes to hear only one sound. If it is said that in the cacophony, many separate sounds can be heard, but not many expressions are heard, so there is no fault, then, is there any different expression other than the sound of reciting poetry, etc.? This is only something to be greatly believed in, but there is no correct proof at all. The reason is that when other sounds of reciting poetry are temporarily stopped, when one person clearly recites poetry, there is no expression different from the sound. If there were, hearing consciousness could hear it, but how could hearing consciousness hear such an expression? Apart from sound, there is no different expression, so where is it? Ear faculty, how can you not understand the different sounds? Because you are determined by causes to have the ability to hear only one sound. If it is said that there is a different expression other than sound, the sound

Because it lacks the ability to express meaning. The reason is that sound alone has many prior and subsequent parts, and many prior and subsequent parts cannot gather together simultaneously, and each prior and subsequent part lacks the ability to express meaning. If you say so, then, the expresser with sound as its object of manifestation, you cannot express meaning. Because sound alone has many prior and subsequent parts, and many prior and subsequent parts cannot gather together simultaneously, and each prior and subsequent part lacks the ability to express meaning, whatever fault it may be, you cannot avoid the fault of sound not being considered an expresser. You have many prior and subsequent parts, because you are manifested by many sounds that appear in sequential order. If it is thought that the essential order of the letters of the Vedas is speech not made by a person, then, the essential order of the letters of the Vedas is not speech not made by a person, because there is no difference from the essence of the letters of the Vedas. These letters of the Vedas also fundamentally lack a permanently established constant order, because they can be changed into other orders at will. If it is not established, then, it is contradictory that worldly letters can be changed into other orders at will, because the letters of the Vedas cannot be changed into other orders, and are one with the letters of the Vedas. The letters of the Vedas have no order of time and place, because they pervade all places and exist constantly. If you want to eliminate that fault and think that the letters of the Vedas are not constant and not pervasive, then that fault is also as previously stated, "If it is not constant, then it is produced by effort, and it will not change in all places." etc. has already been said. If it is thought that the order of letters manifested through the action of the tongue, palate, etc. is speech, then, knowable things, the order of letters manifested through the action of the tongue, palate, etc. is also not speech, because the possibility of constant Vedic letters etc. being manifested by conditions has been excluded by valid cognition. Furthermore, the letters of the Vedas
