There is no error in the dharma to be proven. If there is no relationship between the reason and the dharma, then it is certain that the reason will produce error in what is to be proven. For example, if one infers that all the fruits contained in a pod are ripe based on the reason of being contained in one pod, then it is like an erroneous pervasion. Now, if there is no relationship between the reason and the dharma, what is said about the erroneous pervasion that arises merely because the reason does not appear on its own contradictory side? Knowable dharma, for it, merely because a certain reason does not appear on its own contradictory side, it strongly shows the reverse pervasion of certainty of absence, which is called a reason with remainder. Because such a reason cannot produce certainty on what is to be proven, but is the cause of merely producing doubt. Now, intending to explain "if there is not, it does not arise". Some disciples of the teacher, refuting the view that the teacher considers the reason and dharma to be unrelated, thereby showing that the teacher considers the reason and dharma to be necessary. Teacher Dharmakirti, for you, you think that the reason and dharma are necessarily related by nature, because you have also made a statement of valid determination on the characteristics of the reason - the three aspects. The pervasion is, if the reason and dharma are not related, then the three aspects of the reason cannot be determined by valid cognition. What words are used to express it? It is expressed by "being extremely established on both is establishment" in the Compendium of Valid Cognition, etc. For what purpose is it said? The teacher's statement of valid determination on the three aspects of the reason is necessary, because it is to counteract the unestablished reason, the reason contradictory to the opposite meaning, and the erroneous uncertain reason, that is, to determine that these reasons are correct reasons. If the teacher thinks that in the case where the reason and dharma are not related, the correct reason can establish the reverse pervasion of certainty of absence merely because it does not appear on its own contradictory side. Teacher Dharmakirti, in your school, the statement of establishment of the incompatible combination of dharma, which is stated to counteract the erroneous uncertain reason, becomes meaningless. Because such a statement of establishment does not state the relationship between the reason and the dharma. If you accept, then, from a rational point of view, temporarily contradictory and uncertain

If it is said that it contradicts both, then this contradicts "it is reasonable." If it is said that such a statement is for the purpose or necessity of merely realizing that the sign is not seen in its own contradictory side, then, such a statement, as the subject, because the relationship between the sign and the property is not explained, it is not necessary for you to definitely state that in order to merely realize that the sign is not seen in its own contradictory side, because even if you do not say it, it will be easy to realize that the sign is not seen in its own contradictory side. If it is said that such a statement is stated for the purpose of merely determining that the sign does not exist in its own contradictory side, then, the statement "the true sign does not exist in its own contradictory side," as a contradictory statement, you do not determine that the sign does not exist in its own contradictory side by the power of valid cognition, because you do not explain the natural relationship between the sign and the property. If it is said, how does such a statement realize that the sign does not exist in its own contradictory side? Then, it, as the subject, if the natural relationship between the sign and the property is explained, then at that time it will be realized that the sign does not exist in its own contradictory side, because the natural relationship between the sign and the property is the correct reason or correct reason for not existing in the sign's own contradictory side. If the teacher thinks that merely not seeing the contradictory side can establish the opposite of non-determination, then, the teacher Dignāga, as the subject, according to your view, the eaten fruit and the fruit that grew from the same tree and was not eaten by the sign become the remaining reason for proving that the taste is sweet, why is it a pervasive error, and not not? Because the former thesis is established. If you admit it, then this contradicts what is said in the Compendium on Valid Cognition when refuting the remaining reason with reason, "Because the form and so on are the same, the taste and so on will not be eaten and will be the same, this is not." Also, it, as the subject, according to your view, the life and so on that are falsely established as the opposite by the rational person and so on will also become the correct reason for proving that the living body has a self, because the former thesis is established. Life and so on are proving that the living body has a self.
