The lifespan of pretas is calculated as five hundred years. As stated in the "Letter to a Friend": "Five thousand and even ten thousand, there is no death." The lifespan of the cold hells is: From a container filled with eighty khalas of sesame seeds, measured by the Magadha measure, one sesame seed is removed every hundred years, until the container is empty. This is the lifespan of the Blister Hell, and the lower ones are calculated to increase by twenty times compared to the previous one. As it is said: If the sound is unpleasant, the lifespan is a thousand; for two, it is halved. Here it is uncertain, the last is ten years, the first is immeasurable. Human lifespan is fifty, for the gods of the desire realm, one day and night for the lower gods, the upper two are doubled. Those with form have no day or night, lifespan is a kalpa measured by one's own body. The formless realm is a thousand kalpas, increased by twenty and increased again. From the smallest light to the great kalpa, the one below it is half. The six hells, such as Revival, are successively equal to the lifespan and day and night of the desire realm gods. Therefore, their lifespans are the same as the gods of the desire realm. The extremely hot half and the Avici Hell are intermediate kalpas, animals are extremely long kalpas, pretas are calculated as five hundred by months and days. From a sesame seed pile, one sesame seed is removed every hundred years until it is exhausted, this is the lifespan of the Blister Hell. The lifespan of others increases by twenty times. As it is said. Is it certain that all beings can live as long as their lifespan? Those with unpleasant sounds can certainly live as long as their lifespan, but other beings cannot live to the end of their lifespan, because there will be untimely deaths. Fourth, the difference in birthplaces is: The birthplaces of sentient beings are four types, such as birth from eggs. Among them, miraculous birth is when the senses are complete at once and cease at once, the other three are gradually completed and gradually cease. Both humans and animals have all four birthplaces. Miraculous birth among animals is: some nagas are born miraculously. Miraculous birth among humans is the humans of the first kalpa. The other three birthplaces of animals are easy to understand. All hells, gods, and intermediate states are only miraculously born, most pretas are miraculously born, and some are born from the womb. The noble...

To the son of Oughal, a hungry ghost woman said: I give birth to five sons at night, and likewise I give birth to five sons during the day, and after giving birth, I eat them. However, I do not feel satisfied. Human birth from eggs is: A person whose boat broke in the sea grabbed a plank and drifted to an island, where he mated with a crane and two eggs were laid, thus giving rise to places called Firm Rock and Near Rock. Also, the five hundred sons of King Five-Taking were born from five hundred eggs laid by a queen, and so on. Moisture-born are: From the fleshy bump on the crown of King Pure-Giving's head, a 'born from me' son was born, and from the right shoulder of the 'born from me' son, King Beautiful was born, and from the left shoulder of King Beautiful, Near-Beautiful was born, and like the sour mangoes that grew in the mango grove of Wide City, these are born from moisture. Fifth, explaining the method of measurement, there are five types. The measurement of direction is: Using the measurement of Yojana to explain the measurement of location and body, and using the measurement of years to explain the measurement of lifespan. Since the measurements of these have not been explained, what are the measurements of these? The measurement of Yojana is from the finest particle to the finger joint: These are all, the latter being calculated as seven times greater than the former. Seven finest particles are a fine particle, seven fine particles are an iron particle, seven iron particles are a water particle, seven water particles are a rabbit particle, seven rabbit particles are a sheep particle, seven sheep particles are a cow particle, seven cow particles are a sunbeam particle, seven sunbeam particles are a louse egg, seven louse eggs are a louse born from a louse egg, seven lice are a barleycorn, seven barleycorns are a finger joint. Twenty-four finger joints are one cubit, four cubits are one bow, five hundred bows are one call, a place one call above a village is considered a monastery. Eight calls are a Yojana. Second, the measurement of time is: The space between one finest particle moving up and down is the ultimate instant. One hundred and twenty ultimate instants are one instant. Sixty instants are one Tang. A moment, a day and night, and the measurement of months are all thirty times greater than the former. Thirty Tangs are a moment, thirty
