. The school's book says: When this summer with blooming flowers comes, when this autumn with bright moon shining comes, everyone will be happy, but I will not feel unhappy because life is about to end. So it is said. At that time, human life needs conditions to survive, food, clothing and medicine, etc. all need to be obtained through hard work, and it is difficult to obtain. There are many adverse conditions, such as four hundred and four kinds of diseases and other internal factors, as well as external adverse conditions such as poison, weapons, cliffs, and harm from humans and non-humans. Knowing that death may come at any time, we must strive to make leisure and perfection meaningful. The "Garland of Jewels" says: There are many causes of death, but only a little bit of the causes of survival. And that little bit is also the cause of death, so always accumulate Dharma. So it is said. Therefore, even if you can live to be a hundred years old now, as I see it, those who can live to a ripe old age seem to be difficult to exceed sixty years old. You should also think about how much has passed in the past, and now even if you can live to a ripe old age, how long can you live? How much certainty is there in being able to live to a ripe old age? In addition, you should also think about how many people younger, older, and of similar age to yourself have died. Think like this, not knowing which will come first, the next life, the next month, or tomorrow. You must repeatedly remember that death may come at any time. In this way, understanding the difficulty of obtaining leisure and perfection, as well as the impermanence of death, seeing the faults and merits of good and evil, therefore, we must properly accept and reject them. Thinking about karma and its results has three aspects: the nature of good and non-good, the classification, and the differences in their results. First, the three doors of body, speech and mind produced by the three afflictions of greed, hatred and ignorance are non-virtuous karma, because they will produce unpleasant results. Just as the sutra says: The three of greed, hatred and ignorance, the karma produced by this is non-virtuous. So it is said. The three doors of body, speech and mind produced by the three roots of non-greed, non-hatred and non-ignorance are virtuous karma, because they will produce pleasant results. Non-greed, non-hatred, non-ignorance, the karma produced by this is virtuous. So it is said. Non-virtuous karma is also divided into two types: prohibited sins and natural sins. The first is self-

Transgressing the precepts that have been vowed, this becomes a sin only for those who uphold the precepts. The second is that it becomes a sin for all, whether they uphold the precepts or not. Briefly, there are ten non-virtuous actions: killing, stealing, and sexual misconduct are the non-virtuous actions of the body; lying, divisive speech, harsh speech, and idle chatter are the non-virtuous actions of speech; covetousness, malice, and wrong view are the non-virtuous actions of the mind. Among these, killing is defined as oneself or someone instructed by oneself intentionally and accurately killing another sentient being. "Killing is intentional, and without error means killing another." Stealing is defined as oneself or someone instructed by oneself taking possession of another's property through force or deception. "Stealing is taking another's property, taking possession through force and deception." Sexual misconduct is defined as engaging in sexual activity with someone who is not one's own spouse, such as men and women who are not suitable partners, and the act of two people engaging in sexual intercourse. "Desiring to engage in what is not suitable, sexual misconduct is of four types." Lying is defined as speaking with the intention of altering the meaning of words that differ from reality, so that others understand the meaning. "Lying is changing perception, so that the meaning of the words is clearly understood." Divisive speech is defined as speaking true or false words in order to break the friendship of others or to prevent reconciliation, so that the other person understands the meaning. "Divisive speech is for the purpose of separating others, it is the speech of an afflicted mind." Harsh speech is defined as speaking words that are unpleasant to other sentient beings. "Harsh speech is unpleasant." Idle chatter is defined as any speech that is motivated by an afflicted mind. "All that is motivated by affliction is idle chatter." Malice is defined as hating other sentient beings. "Malice is hating sentient beings." Covetousness is defined as being attached to the possessions of others and wanting to take them as one's own. Wrong view is defined as denying the cause and effect of all afflictions and purification. "Denying cause and effect and karma, wrong view is covetousness, it is being attached to the wealth of others."
