It is said that "mind itself appears in various ways." For those who are particularly attached to form, the antidote to form is also provisional. As stated in sutras such as the *Laṅkāvatāra Sūtra*, regarding the existence or non-existence of external appearances, etc., it is said that external objects do not exist, but mind itself appears in various ways as body and resources, etc. The intention is that for those trainees who are particularly attached to form, due to this, afflictions such as desire arise uncontrollably, and based on this, they commit great evils, thus degenerating from the accumulations of merit and wisdom. For those people, the Blessed One, in order to pacify the afflictions caused by form, just as he taught those with attachment to meditate on skeletons, although it is not completely in accordance with reality, it should be understood that he taught only mind by counteracting form. Therefore, that sutra is also provisional. If you ask, how do you know that this is also only provisional and not definitive? Secondly, to establish the reason for proof, there are two types: scriptural and logical. First, this is what the Teacher said is provisional, and this should also be provisional by reason. Not only is this sutra provisional, but other similar sutras are also clarified by this scripture. Those who consider the Mind-Only school to be definitive, such as the three natures of the imagined nature, the dependent nature, and the perfectly established nature mentioned in the *Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra* of the Noble One, the imagined nature does not exist, the dependent nature exists, and similarly, "The consciousness of grasping is deep and subtle, all seeds flow like a stream of water, it is not permissible to grasp as self, this I have not shown to children." etc., other similar sutras are also like a doctor giving various medicines to a patient, the Buddha also similarly to sentient beings, also well taught Mind-Only. This scripture clarifies that the existence or non-existence of external appearances is provisional. Just as doctors give different medicines because of the different types of diseases of patients, the Tathagata's teaching of Mind-Only is also because it is taught in accordance with the different thoughts of the trainees. Mind-Only

If what is said is of definite meaning, then again, considering the differences in the minds of those to be taught, the Mind-Only is taught, and it is unreasonable to say that this is necessary. Similarly, in the Lankavatara Sutra, the Blessed One speaks of the Tathagatagarbha in the sutra, saying that the Blessed One, whose nature is luminous and completely pure, is pure from the beginning, possessing the thirty-two marks, and exists within the bodies of all sentient beings. Just as the Blessed One's precious jewel is wrapped in a dirty cloth, it is wrapped in the cloth of the skandhas, dhatus, and ayatanas, oppressed by desire, hatred, and ignorance, and defiled by the distinctions of conceptual thought. If it is said to be permanent, stable, and real, then, Blessed One, how is this Tathagatagarbha spoken of by the Tathagata different from the self spoken of by the Tirthikas? Blessed One, the Tirthikas also speak of a self that is permanent, a maker, without qualities, pervasive, and indestructible. The Blessed One taught: Great Wisdom, the teaching of the Tathagatagarbha is not the same as that of the Tirthikas. Great Wisdom, the Tathagatas, Arhats, and Samyaksambuddhas teach the Tathagatagarbha through the meaning of terms such as emptiness, true limit, nirvana, unborn, unceasing, signless, and wishless. In order for children to abandon the places that are destroyed by selflessness, that meaning is taught through the gateway of the Tathagatagarbha, thereby revealing the realm of non-discrimination, the object of experience without appearance. Great Wisdom, Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas who appear in the future and present should not be attached to self. Great Wisdom, for example, a potter, with a single lump of clay, with hands, skill, tools, water, thread, and effort, makes various kinds of vessels. Great Wisdom, similarly, the Tathagatas also...
