Therefore, for phenomena that lack inherent existence, various wisdoms will easily enter into the negation of the inherent existence of the knower. That is to say, for phenomena that lack inherent existence, various wisdoms, sometimes they will realize themselves that knowledge lacks inherent existence, and sometimes they can be transformed by a slight indication. Third, showing the difference between those that need interpretation and those that do not: Having understood the history of the scriptures in this way, Which sutra does not explain the ultimate meaning that is distinguished by dependent origination and no arising, But explains the conventional meaning, Having understood that the meaning that needs interpretation is spoken, one should interpret it, Know that the meaning that explains emptiness is definitive. As mentioned above, one should widely understand the transmission of the scriptures of those that need interpretation and those that are definitive. Among them, which sutra does not directly clarify the ultimate truth that is characterized by dependent origination and no arising, but directly explains the conventional truth, if it explains that it can be led to the meaning of emptiness, then these are only spoken as a means to enter into no inherent existence, therefore it needs interpretation. And, after understanding what the intention of these sutras is, one should interpret and explain it in a way that does not contradict it. Which sutra directly clarifies emptiness and no arising, etc., the meaning of these sutras cannot be interpreted in other ways, therefore one should know that it is definitive. The difference between those that need interpretation and those that are definitive is like this. The Noble Samadhi King Sutra also says: As the Sugata explained emptiness, One should know the distinctions of the definitive sutras. Whatever sutra explains sentient beings, individuals, and persons, Know that all these dharmas are in need of interpretation. Similarly, the Noble Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra also says: What is a sutra with a meaning that needs interpretation? Which sutra explains the conventional truth, this is the meaning that needs interpretation. What is a sutra with a definitive meaning? Which sutra is spoken for the purpose of realizing the ultimate truth, this is the definitive meaning. Which sutra explains with various words and letters, this is the meaning that needs interpretation. Which sutra explains that it is profound, difficult to see, and difficult to understand, this is the definitive meaning. Which sutra explains self, sentient beings, life, nourisher, person,

Regarding persons, those born of power, sons of power, authors, and the sounds and various languages of experiencers, saying that things without owners are as if they have owners, this is a meaning that needs to be guided. In a certain sutra, it is said that emptiness, signlessness, wishlessness, non-fabrication, unborn, unarisen, non-thing, non-sentient being, non-life, non-person, non-owner, and the doors of liberation are the ultimate meaning. Because it has been said that way. Thus, in the "Explication of the Thought Sutra," the sutras that show all phenomena as without inherent existence are of provisional meaning, and those that show the absence of the completely imputed and the existence of other-powered are also known to have intention, which can be established through this scripture and reasoning. There is no harm to the actual meaning of the sutras that show all phenomena as unborn, because all phenomena are prevented and obstructed from arising from the four extremes. The actual meaning of the sutras that show the existence of other-powered is not established as it is, because the substantial establishment of other-powered has been well prevented by scripture and reasoning. Thus, whichever sutra's directly shown meaning is not harmed by reasoning is of definitive meaning; whichever sutra's directly shown meaning is harmed by reasoning is called provisional meaning. In other sutras, what is the meaning of the three natures of the completely imputed, other-powered, and thoroughly established? For example, the object of a snake is imputed on the dependent arising of a coiled rope, because when the rope is grasped as a snake, there is no snake on the rope. On the object of a snake, the snake itself is thoroughly established, because grasping a snake as a snake is not a conceptual imputation. Nature is also imputed on the other-powered dependent arising, because when children grasp dependent arising as nature or essence, just like a snake on a rope, there is no nature on dependent arising, because dependent arising is artificial, born from causes and conditions, and nature is not like that.
