Where does the mind go when it changes? It cannot be held and does not transform. As it is said. Therefore, the emptiness of all phenomena, empty of its own nature, is the antidote to all views, the path of all noble beings, the mind of all Tathagatas, and the heart essence of all scriptures. Those of us who wish well should believe this. If someone holds that the emptiness of persons is truly existent in the ultimate truth, then their view cannot serve as an antidote to the two obscurations. This is because an antidote that destroys what is to be abandoned must be contrary to what is to be abandoned in its way of holding onto the same object. For example, knowing that sound is impermanent and holding onto sound as permanent. If one views the ultimate truth as existing apart from the conventional, then they and the afflictions and conceptual thoughts that arise perversely on the aggregates do not hold onto the same object, nor is their way of holding contrary, because their objects of focus are the two truths, which are different, and they are the same in their attachment to holding the object as true. This not only does not act as an antidote to afflictions and conceptual thoughts, but also nurtures their seeds. This is because afflictions such as desire have self-grasping as their cause, and if someone is attached to the existence of an ultimately true self apart from the aggregates, then their self-grasping of the aggregates will also increase day by day, like the views of the Samkhya and Vaisheshika schools. Those who view the essence of the Sugata, called the permanent self, as ultimately existing in sentient beings also have such a state. If someone delights in elaboration, then their conceptual thoughts will also increase, like children. Those who are attached to the essence of the Sugata as pure, blissful, permanent, self, etc., are also those who delight in elaboration. Therefore, the antidote that can eradicate all extreme views from the root is the view of realizing that all phenomena are empty of inherent nature, and it scolds sentient beings in many ways, and increases the seeds of afflictions and conceptual thoughts, which are the cause of samsara and the lower realms.

Praising wrong views in many ways, and by causing others to fall into them from their own position, those evil companions who not only destroy themselves but also destroy others should be discarded far away like ashes by those who desire liberation. Among them, external emptiness is: Because of its own nature, form is empty of form. Sound, smell, taste, touch, and phenomena are also the same. The absence of self-nature in form, etc., is considered external emptiness. The six external sense bases, such as form, are called external phenomena. They are empty of their own essence in the manner described earlier, and this is called external emptiness. Both are without self-nature, which is internal and external emptiness. Both the internal and external sense bases are without self-nature, which is internal and external emptiness. Others consider the body of the powerful one to be the inner continuum and the outer sense bases, thus it is the basis of internal and external emptiness. Phenomena are without self-nature, and the wise call it emptiness. This emptiness is also considered to be empty in essence by emptiness. The so-called emptiness is considered to be emptiness as emptiness, and it is spoken to dispel the clinging of those who have thoughts of things. The internal and external phenomena are all without self-nature, and this absence of self-nature is called emptiness. As it is said: If there is a little non-emptiness, then there is a little emptiness. If there is no little non-emptiness, how can there be emptiness? As it is said, if there is a little phenomenon that is not empty by its own nature, then on such a basis of refutation, there exists the emptiness of refuting some refutable phenomenon. If, according to the reason stated earlier, there is not even a little non-empty phenomenon, then there is no way to talk about emptiness being established by its own nature. Therefore, emptiness is also empty of its own essence by emptiness, and this is emptiness as emptiness. Why is this said? Because foolish people think that when all phenomena are shown to be emptiness, emptiness should also be real.
