All unmet things will only produce acceptable results. Therefore, you accuse all things without reason, so you will not be accepted by the holy ones. Furthermore, you will also become a complete rejecter, because you are only abandoning your own position and only dedicated to refuting the positions of others. Second, the reason for stating the inconsistency is: the refuter meets or does not meet the refuted, whose fault is it to say "to refute"? It must be that it happens to those who have a sect, and it is impossible for us who have no sect to have equal faults. The refuter refutes by meeting or not meeting the refuted, this fault that is the same as what one says will happen to which opponent? It will happen to those who claim that both the refuter and the refuted are inherently established, and that there must be a sect, because there can be no other situation. For us Madhyamikas, since neither the refuter nor the refuted are established by their own nature, we do not have our own sect. The refuter cannot refute even if he meets the refuted, and he cannot refute if he does not meet him. Therefore, it is impossible to have equal faults in what one says. As it says in the sutra: Venerable Subhuti, can the unborn dharma be obtained by the born dharma? Or can the unborn dharma be obtained by the unborn dharma? Subhuti said: Venerable, I do not think that the unborn dharma can be obtained by the born dharma, nor do I think that the unborn dharma can be obtained by the unborn dharma. Shariputra said: Venerable Subhuti, is there no attainment and no realization? Subhuti said: Venerable Shariputra, there is attainment and there is realization, but not in the way of the two. Venerable Shariputra, attainment and realization are spoken of in conventional truth, and the stream-enterer, the once-returner, the non-returner, the Arhat, the Pratyekabuddha, and the Bodhisattva are also spoken of in conventional truth, but there is no attainment in ultimate truth.

It is like the extensive statement that "there is no attainment and no realization." This sutra, like the prevention of the attainment and attainability of the ultimate truth, and the acceptance of attainment and attainability in the conventional truth, although the object to be refuted and the refuter are not encountered or not encountered, it should be understood that in convention, the refuter makes the object to be refuted be refuted. Furthermore, in order to clarify the understanding of the desired meaning from the refuter of no self-nature through examples, it is explained: Just as the distinctions existing in the disc of the sun, can also be seen in the reflection, at that time the sun and the reflection, meeting and not meeting are not reasonable, but the reflection is only dependently originated in name. Although it is not there, it can accomplish the beauty of its own face, likewise, here too, the face of wisdom, the reason for seeing the power in what should be tamed, even the untrue can understand what is to be established. Just as the distinctions such as holding light existing in the disc of the sun, when the reflection of the sun appears in extremely clear water, it can be seen and realized, at that time, since the reflection is without self-nature, the reason for meeting or not meeting the disc of the sun cannot be measured, but due to the causes of clear water and close proximity of the form, the reflection is only dependently originated in name, and although it is without self-nature, the distinctions such as holding light existing in the sun can be realized from it. Although the reflection of the face appearing in the extremely clear water is without self-nature, relying on it, the differences between the beauty and ugliness of one's own face can be accomplished and realized, similarly, with the refuter of no self-nature refuting the object to be refuted, here too, it should be known that by taming the defilement of ignorance on the face of wisdom of any opponent, from the consequentialist who can see the ability to create the reflection of the desired meaning, the reason of the untrue nature that is spoken can also understand the established thesis of the school that claims that things are established by self-nature, such as being separated from reason. Furthermore, if one's own side has the real reason for understanding, and also actually has the nature of the thesis to be established that needs to be understood.
