Furthermore, if the expression "Devadatta has form" is taken to mean that it is expressed with a word that possesses non-otherness, then, since I have already said that I and form, etc., are neither the same nor different, there is no need to use the word "having." Third, showing the categories of the view of the perishable: Form is not self, self does not possess form, there is no self in form, there is no form in self. Thus, all the aggregates should be known in four ways. These are considered twenty views of self. Form is not self, because the characteristics of self and form do not match. I am also not possessing form like a necklace worn by a man, because they are not different. Like a lion in a mountain ravine, the self does not exist in form following it, nor can the self be controlled by form like the property of Devadatta. In this way, it should be known that all four aggregates of name are also without self in four ways. Thus, the five aggregates are separate from self, and the opposite of what was said before, grasping as self in four ways, is grasping the view of self or the view of the perishable, which is considered to be twenty in total. If the scriptures say: Not the aggregates, not other than the aggregates, without the aggregates in it, without it in it, the Thus-gone One does not possess aggregates, what is the Thus-gone One? Isn't it said that there are five kinds of analysis? Therefore, if this becomes twenty-five parts, how can it become twenty parts? These parts of the view of the perishable are distinguished from the sutras, and the view of the perishable cannot grasp the self without grasping the aggregates, therefore, it arises in relation to the aggregates in four ways, such as form is self. In this way, since there is no grasping of self in anything other than the aggregates, the fifth view of the perishable is impossible. Therefore, the view of the perishable is only twenty parts. It should be known that the scriptures say that the fifth aspect of otherness is for refuting the views of the non-Buddhists. Precisely because the view of the perishable is determined to be twenty parts, therefore, with the wisdom vajra that realizes selflessness, destroying the self that perishes together with me, these high peaks that dwell on the stable mountain of the view of the perishable! The sutra says: The mountain of the view of the perishable...

The twenty peaks are high, destroyed by the wisdom vajra, and the fruit of entering the stream is manifested. Thus, the wisdom vajra that realizes selflessness destroys the mountain of viewing the aggregates that is said to perish together with the self. Because the noble wisdom vajra has not descended, the rock of afflictions grows day by day. Samsara has arisen from beginningless time, towering high in the three realms. It is stable because it covers all sides. Emerging from the golden ground of ignorance, the peaks are the highest, which are the twenty mentioned above. Third, refuting the inexpressible self. First, stating the former's view: Some argue that the person, as a real entity, is neither the same as the aggregates nor different from them, neither permanent nor impermanent, but inexpressible. They consider this person to be the object known by the six consciousnesses and also the basis for clinging to self. Some, revered by many noble ones, argue that the person should not be different from the aggregates, because without relying on the aggregates, the clinging to the person cannot be established. But the person is also not the nature of the aggregates, because this would lead to the fault of arising and ceasing. Therefore, the person is neither the same as the aggregates nor different from them, but inexpressible. Just as being neither the same nor different is inexpressible, in order to avoid falling into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, it is therefore neither permanent nor impermanent, but also inexpressible. The person should be real, because it can be said to be the agent and the enjoyer, and is related to samsara, nirvana, bondage, and liberation. This person is not known by its own nature, but is known by making the six sense bases, such as form, the object of consciousness. Therefore, it is also the object known by the six consciousnesses and is also considered to be the basis or object for clinging to self. Refuting this view is divided into two parts: the main text and the conclusion. The main text is further divided into three parts: if it is established as real, then it is not inexpressible; if it is inexpressible, then it is shown to be nominally existent; it is shown that because there is no real dharma, the self cannot be established. The first part is: Because whatever is real is not inexpressible. Just as form and mind are not inexpressible, if some self were established as real, then it would not be inexpressible like mind. Because whatever is real does not allow for other forms.
