If we analyze "birth," then, in terms of ultimate truth, the nature of suchness, emptiness, is not something that abides in the nature of having birth and cessation, etc., which are characterized by birth and cessation. Therefore, in conventional truth, without discriminating between self and other, etc., the worldly people see that "this exists, therefore that arises," and this much is acknowledged from the perspective of relying on others. As Arya Deva said: "Just as a foreign language cannot be understood, similarly, the world cannot be understood except by worldly people." Like this. If we analyze, then worldly conventions will also perish. As it is said in the sutra: "For example, relying on wood and strings, and with the effort of the hand, when these three come together, sound will arise from instruments such as the lute and flute. Then, some wise people investigate, 'From where does it come, and where does it go?' Investigating in all directions and corners, they will not find the coming or going of sound. Similarly, all conditioned phenomena arise from causes and conditions. Yogis who see things as they are see conditioned phenomena as empty and unmoving. The aggregates, sense bases, and elements are empty inside and empty outside. Sentient beings are empty of self and have no place to dwell. The nature of phenomena is the nature of space itself." Like this. If someone says that this clinging to conventional truth will become the cause of both afflictions and purification, therefore some things must arise in the conventional sense with their own nature, then saying that is just empty words. Just as it is: "At the time of that nature, by what reasoning is birth from self and other not reasonable? Since that reasoning is not reasonable even in convention, by what does your birth become established?" In the context of analyzing reality, by whatever reasoning it is established that things do not arise from self and other, as previously stated, then by that reasoning, it is not reasonable for them to arise from self and other even in convention. By what is the birth of your things accomplished? Therefore, for things, their own

Birth by its own nature is not established in either of the two truths. Second, refuting the inappropriateness of refutation is divided into: dispelling contradiction with direct perception, and explaining the rationality of the relationship between actions and results. First, if in both of the two truths, their birth is not established by their own nature, then how can their own nature appear in the world? Things are empty, such as images, etc., dependent on aggregation, these are not unknown in the world. Since this is the case, how can the appearance of the consciousness of that object arise from the emptiness of images, etc.? Similarly, even if all things are empty, they can arise from emptiness. Things are empty by their own nature, such as images, etc., arising dependent on the aggregation of causes and conditions, these are not unknown in the world. Therefore, how can the appearance of the consciousness of that object arise from the emptiness of images, etc.? Similarly, even if all things such as form, feeling, etc. are empty by their own nature, they can arise from the emptiness of their own causes and conditions. Therefore, even if there is no self-nature, arising in name does not contradict, such as images, etc. As it is said: Like a mirror that is very pure, how can there be no self-nature, the appearance of images is also like this, thus know the nature of all dharmas. Therefore, there is no self-nature in both of the two truths, so they are neither permanent nor annihilated. Because things are without self-nature like images, therefore, there is no self-nature in both the ultimate truth and the conventional truth, therefore, they are neither permanent nor annihilated. As it is said in the scriptures: If there is self-nature, then it is not non-existent, hence permanent. What existed before and does not exist now, then it becomes annihilation. And: If things are admitted to exist, then one falls into the views of permanence and annihilation. That thing has real existence, therefore it becomes permanent and impermanent. And so on. Explaining the relationship between actions and results. Second, explaining the relationship between actions and results is divided into: things, and explaining the basis of actions and results.
