For them, it does not appear in all cases, because in order to fully awaken to the nature of the Dharmadhatu, which is the essence of all phenomena, in all aspects, having pacified all the characteristics of elaboration, therefore, they wish to permanently stop the flow of mind and mental events. How should this be understood? Ignorance is of two types: afflicted and non-afflicted. The first is the cause of samsara through manifest clinging to self and what belongs to self. The second is the cause of the appearance of objects and subjects through manifest clinging to forms and other phenomena. The first is abandoned through familiarizing oneself with the selflessness of persons. The latter is abandoned through familiarizing oneself with the selflessness of phenomena. The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, because they have perfected the familiarization with the two selflessnesses, therefore both types of ignorance cease, and therefore, no characteristics of persons or phenomena appear. If the Tathagatas also have the appearance of objects such as forms, then it would become not having abandoned delusion, because false objects appear, like the consciousness of dreams and so on. If they appear but do not cling to them as true, therefore it would not become delusion, then, like someone with cataracts seeing hair strands and double moons in the sky, because there is no clinging to these as being true hair strands and double moons, then it would follow that they are not deluded. If it is said that impure appearances such as forms are caused by ignorance, therefore they do not appear to the Tathagatas, while pure appearances of wisdom such as golden ground and jewel mansions, because they exist, therefore there is no delusion, then, those pure appearances are not truly established, because they arise from roots of virtue such as aspirations and pure lands, and are dependently originated. If those are not produced from causes and conditions, but are established by their own nature, then, what the non-Buddhists say: "Snowflakes, saffron flowers, Curd, wet nurse, pearl color, Like the shape of an open, upright umbrella, The Victorious One said that is liberation." This is the same as wishing for liberation like a white umbrella held upright after transcending the three realms, therefore, it becomes going outside of this teaching.

It should be known that these are all false appearances. If these pure appearances are not truly established because they are interdependent, then the Thus-gone Ones would be in a state of not having abandoned delusion and still being in ashes, because it is contradictory for someone with appearances of false objects to be without delusion. If the Able Ones do not possess all minds and mental factors, then, because they do not have the wisdom of knowing things as they are and as many as they are, activities such as turning the wheel of Dharma would not occur. If one thinks this way, then the Thus-gone Ones' turning of the wheel of Dharma does not depend on the activity of minds with or without conceptualization, but rather occurs effortlessly due to the power of past aspirations and the merit of those to be tamed, just as the sound of Dharma arises from the divine drum, and in some pure lands, the Thus-gone Ones, through the power of past aspirations, cause the sound of Dharma such as emptiness, (Tibetan: མཚན་མ་མེད་པ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अनिमित्त, Sanskrit Romanization: animitta, Literal Chinese meaning: without characteristics), (Tibetan: སྨོན་པ་མེད་པ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अप्राणिहित, Sanskrit Romanization: apraṇihita, Literal Chinese meaning: without aspiration), to arise even from inanimate objects such as plants and forests. This aspect will be explained in detail below, so I will not elaborate further. Now, wanting to show the ultimate truth, but since the ultimate truth is inexpressible and not an object of consciousness, it cannot be directly shown. In order to clarify it for the listeners through their own experience, it is explained through an example: "Due to the power of cataracts, hairs and other distortions, Wherever one imagines them to be, A pure eye sees that nature, Know this to be the same here." A person with cataracts, due to the power of the cataracts, distinguishes hairs and other distorted objects in a container such as coral held in his hand, and wants to remove them, so he struggles to tilt the container. A person without cataracts thinks, "What is he doing?" So he goes to him and directs his eyes to where the hairs are, but he does not see the hairs, and he does not distinguish any characteristics of the place of the hairs, such as its basis, existence, or non-existence. Furthermore, in order to eliminate the conceptualization of the person with cataracts who is attached to the appearance of hairs, the person without cataracts faces him and says:
