Because of clinging to the fact that words are not deceptive, it is established as true from the worldly people themselves, not in relation to the noble ones, because they see things as like images. Furthermore, whatever is grasped by the consciousnesses arising from the delusion of the senses, such as images, is established as reversed from the world itself, because worldly people do not cling to these as appearing truly, so there is no naming in the realm of acceptance and rejection. Secondly, taking the example of a false object, it is said: "The non-Buddhists disturbed by the sleep of ignorance, who examine the self as it is, and whatever is examined as illusion, mirage, etc., these do not exist even in the world." The internal and external non-Buddhists who are disturbed and deluded by the thick sleep of ignorance, which obscures the nature of reality, examine the self, the chief, the powerful, the atoms, the basis of all, etc., as they are in their own tenets, and whatever is imputed externally to the illusions and mirages, etc., which are appearances of sensory delusion, these do not exist even in the language of the world, because worldly people do not name through these. If it is said that what is established by the internal and external philosophical schools does not exist ultimately, but how can it not exist conventionally? The internal and external non-Buddhists want to be outstanding, like letting go of the previous branch of a tree and reaching for the next branch but not grasping it. They want to enter into Suchness, therefore they completely abandon birth and death, etc., which are known even among worldly people and cowherds, and with bad discrimination they perversely fabricate reality, thus losing both truths and falling into the great abyss of bad views. Therefore, to show that the worldly do not harm Suchness, just as the vision of someone with cataracts does not harm the wisdom of someone without cataracts. Similarly, the mind that has abandoned stainless wisdom does not harm stainless wisdom. This refutation of arising from another is not a refutation spoken in relation to the consciousness of worldly people.

However, the refutation is stated based on the observation of the noble ones. Therefore, just as the vision of someone with eyes clouded by cataracts does not hinder the vision of wisdom without cataracts, similarly, even if the mind that engages in worldly conventions, having abandoned the flawless wisdom of the noble ones, establishes things like arising from others, it does not harm the object of the noble mind, which is free from the stain of ignorance cataracts, such as the unborn. Therefore, in the context of discerning the ultimate truth, those who take the world as प्रमाण (pramāṇa, measure, प्रमाण) are worthy of being laughed at by the holy ones. Secondly, the individual nature of the two truths. First, to show the nature of relative truth: Ignorance is relative, because it obscures reality; whatever is seen as true by it is false; the Sage has declared it to be relative truth; things that have become false are relative. This truth makes sentient beings ignorant of reality, hence it is ignorance. It clings to the reality of things in a distorted way, so it obscures the vision of reality, hence it is called relative. Such relative truth, whatever things are seen and clung to as true by it, are false dependent arisings because they have not entered into reality. This is the relative truth, as declared by the Sage who sees the nature of the two truths as they are. Thus, for the time being, relative truth is established by the power of afflictive ignorance. This relative truth is also regarded by the noble Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Bodhisattvas, who have abandoned afflictive ignorance, as false things, seen as if they were reflections, so it is only established as relative, not as true, because it has no pretension of appearing as true. The mere relative truth just mentioned also appears to the noble ones who have objects of experience with appearances, because they constantly practice non-afflictive ignorance, in the post-meditation state, but not in the meditative state, because all elaborations are completely pacified. The Bhagavan Buddha, who has objects of experience without appearances
