Because the self of nature, which pervades all beings, has no distinction. Why not consider the self of other persons as one's own self? If it is said that the other self is obscured and cannot be seen. If the other self is one's own self, then it is unreasonable to say that one's own self obscures one's own self. Therefore, the self should not be all-pervasive. Fourth, refuting that it is the agent of qualities. Here, the Samkhya school considers dust, darkness, and vigor to be the three qualities. The state in which these three are in equilibrium is called the chief (Prakṛti), and when it produces transformations, it is called nature. According to their view, the self of nature, which has the nature of the three qualities, should be enjoyed by the person in the realm. As it is said: From nature comes the great, from that comes ego, from that come the sixteen groups, and the sixteen groups also come from the five tanmatras and the five great elements. Thus, the agent who produces all the groups of transformations, because he is without mind, is not always knowing. There is no difference between the Samkhya school that says this and a madman. Because driven by inverted wisdom, they speak of the fabrication of meanings that do not exist. Like this, saying that the mindless is the agent of all things is extremely contradictory. Furthermore, the qualities of the three natures of dust, darkness, and vigor know how to create all the groups of transformations, such as houses, in all situations, but they say that they do not know how to enjoy and eat. What could be more unreasonable than this? Because this contradicts reason, and the world does not accept it. Fifth, refuting that the self is the agent. The Vaisheshika school believes that the self is the agent of both Dharma and Adharma, and also the enjoyer of their Vipaka. Their self also cannot be permanent. Like this, if the self is the agent, it must be admitted that it has the cause of action, because if it does nothing, it will not be seen as the agent. That which has action is also not permanent, because if there is no difference from before the action is started, it cannot be done. Furthermore, if this self goes to all realms and is all-pervasive,

Because of wanting (to have a self), there is no place that is not suppressed. Therefore, there are no actions such as going, coming, and staying. If, fearing those faults, you admit that the self is without action, then the self without action is the same as non-existence. Those who have the nature of existence, because they do some things, are considered to exist. Not doing anything, like a flower in the sky, cannot be considered to exist. Because there is no action, the self is the same as non-existence. Why don't you like selflessness? Because it is the opposite of all wrong views, it should be liked. Secondly, the general refutation is: If this self exists by its own nature, like the heat of fire, then for everyone, the wisdom that takes it as its object would not be different. But this is not the case. For example, some Vaibhashikas and Samkhyas, etc., think that in each body there is an undifferentiated self, pervading everything like space. Some of them think that different bodies are falsely posited as different, for example, due to the influence of water in different containers, the same moon is seen as different. Some of the naked ascetics think that for bees, ants, and elephants, etc., the purusha shrinks or expands according to the size of the body. As it is said: The naked ascetics say that life shrinks and expands according to the size of the body. Some people cannot bear shrinking and expanding, and think that the self is just a tiny particle. Relying on the teachings of the Sugata, giving rise to correct wisdom, and those wise ones who directly know the nature of dependent origination, think that the self does not exist by its own nature. Because there are such different views, you should know that the self does not exist by its own nature. Furthermore, if the self exists by its own nature, it will not be liberated. For example, in samsara, for the permanent self with harm, practicing the antidote does not eliminate the harm, and does not eliminate the harm at all. If there is no harm to the state with harm, then how can one obtain liberation from eliminating harm? Because that is the case, those who think that the self is permanent should not have liberation. Therefore, those who want liberation should
