If I cannot establish the tenet of emptiness, and if I refute with fallacies such as "everything arises from everything," then admitting that "some arise from some" and so on contradicts the Madhyamika's own view. If I do not refute, then since there is no refutation of the fallacy, it is not appropriate to refute. Furthermore, does the Madhyamika himself establish the tenet of unbornness and emptiness with valid cognition, or not? If you say it is not established, then teaching others while you yourself have not established it becomes an object of laughter for the wise. If you say it is established, then since direct perception of the mundane cannot be a valid cognition for the tenet of emptiness, it must be established only through inference. Through what reason and example did you generate a valid cognition of the tenet of emptiness, and why do you not tell others that reason and example? If you say you do not tell it out of stinginess, then you have become a non-holy person. If you say that we have generated a definite understanding of the tenet of emptiness from the Mahayana scriptures, but that scripture is not accepted by our own and other schools, therefore we do not speak of it, then did you accept the meaning of the scripture that teaches emptiness after it was established by valid cognition, or did you accept it without it being established? According to the latter case, it shows yourself to be foolish, because prior conceptualizations are accepted after the meaning of the scripture has been measured by valid cognition. If you say that the meaning of the scripture was accepted after it was established by valid cognition, then with what reasoning does the scripture of unbornness become a valid cognition, and why do you not show that reasoning to others? No wise person abandons the reasoning that enters by the power of things. If you say that we have established the tenet of emptiness with yogic direct perception, and that it is something that each individual must realize for themselves, therefore it cannot be shown to others, then since you also do not accept a causeless, self-arising yogi, you must say what method that yoga of emptiness arises from. If you say that first, emptiness is determined through hearing and thinking, and then the meaning is practiced single-pointedly, and from that the yoga of emptiness arises, that is true. However, in that case, meditating on a meaning that has not been established by valid cognition,
