One should not investigate anything about transcending suffering. Not discriminating between samsara and nirvana is to transcend the wilderness of samsara and also reach the city of nirvana. Therefore, in the Sutra of the Noble Subduer of Mara, it says: "Then, Manjushri Kumara thought, just as the evil demon was bound by the fetters of the threshold of the door, he fell to the ground and wailed, 'I am bound by strong fetters! I am bound by strong fetters!'" From there, the evil one asked, "Who has bound you, who has let you go?" He replied, "Manjushri, I do not know who has bound me." He asked, "Evil one, how is it that you perceive yourself as bound when you are not bound, just as all ignorant ordinary people perceive impermanence as permanence?" From there, he further asked, "Evil one, from where will you be liberated, and from what will you be liberated?" He replied, "I will not be liberated from anywhere." He asked, "Evil ones, those who have been liberated, apart from fully understanding the false perception, will not be liberated from anywhere; fully understanding it is called liberation." It is like saying this. From this scripture, it can be seen that the vine of bondage, which arises merely from the inverted perception due to untruth, being completely severed is called liberation and nirvana, just as the burning fire seen in a dream is extinguished by water. The sixteenth chapter of the commentary on the Examination of Bondage and Liberation from the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way. Explanation of the Seventeenth Chapter. In the seventeenth examination, first, the previous position is presented, and then it is refuted. The first point is: Here it is said that samsara exists because it is the basis for the connection between actions and their results. If samsara, which has the characteristic of passing from one life to another, exists, then the actions done in this life should be related to the results that ripen in future lives. If samsara as described above does not exist, then the mind will perish immediately after it arises, and there will be no ripening at the time of the action, so there will be no connection between actions and their results. What are these actions and what are their results?

Regarding the nature, classification, and refutation of disputes concerning karma, there are three aspects. Firstly: Oneself well-disciplined, and benefiting others with loving-kindness, this dharma is the seed of all fruits, here and hereafter. Oneself well-disciplined refers to the mind that refrains from engaging in actions such as killing, and benefiting others refers to the mind that helps others through the four means of gathering and protecting them from fear, and the loving-kindness that arises from friendship and is not contrary to sentient beings. These three minds are called dharma because they protect one from falling into the lower realms. The term 'dharma' is known in the scriptures to have three meanings: the meaning of upholding one's own characteristics, the meaning of protecting from the lower realms, and the meaning of protecting from the cycle of the five realms. Here, we take the middle meaning. Non-dharma should be understood as the opposite of this. Thus, these three types of minds are the seeds that cause the uncommon cause of the ripening fruit to appear as desired. When will the fruit be accomplished? It is from this life, where karma is created and seen, that the fruit will be accomplished in other lifetimes. Secondly, classification is divided into two types: classification by nature and classification by characteristics. The first is: The actions of the supreme righteous one are said to be thought and intention. Because of understanding the ultimate truth, they are called righteous ones. Because they are superior to the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, they are called supreme. The Buddhas, Bhagavan, and others have said in the sutras: Actions are the instigators of virtuous and non-virtuous actions of body and speech, which are the actions of thought, and the nature of the form and formless that are instigated by them, which are the actions of intention. The first of these two actions is: The action of mind, which is the manifest activity of the mind. When classified, there is merit, which is the cause of happiness in the desire realm, and non-merit, which is the cause of the lower realms, and immovable action, which is the cause of the higher realms. The second is the action of body, speech, and mind, which are the ten non-virtuous actions and the ten virtuous actions with outflows. How is that so? Thus, what action is called thought, that which is said is the desire of the mind, what is called intention, that which is said is the action of body and speech. Among the two actions that are said, what is the action of thought
