Now, the one who demonstrates wisdom and means, which have become the cause, says that it is necessary to declare at the beginning of all scriptures. Also, in the Samputa Tantra, it says: "Son of lineage, the letters 'Thus I have heard' are the beginning of the Dharma, always truly abiding, and they generate the accomplishment of pure and perfectly complete enlightenment." Thus it is said. How could that harm this? In the Kalachakra Root Tantra, it is said that if the Dharma is taught to the sages by 'Thus I have heard,' it is not omniscient because it is heard from others. Because such an argument arises, it is not established. In the Unsurpassed Tantra, the letters such as ཨེ་ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: एवं, Romanized Sanskrit: evaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: thus), which show the occasion of insertion, are explained through four modes of explanation. This explanatory tantra of Guhyasamaja is the oral instruction of Vajradhara. The Vajramala Tantra says so. When explaining the meaning of the letters, it is not explained because the meaning of the letters is easy to understand. This is because it is the words of the compiler. The doubt that the teacher heard from others does not arise even for the foolish. If explaining with the common meaning, with three common meanings, then in order to integrate the generation stage into the meaning, and in order to show the hidden and ultimate meaning, showing the integration into the meaning of the completion stage, there is no doubt of hearing from others. The wise who rely on meaning have no doubt, but if the foolish who rely on words have doubt, then it would be inappropriate to establish it in other sutras and tantras as well. Because it does not prevent the foolish from generating doubt. Because of the fear of the doubt that it is not omniscient, ཨེ་ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: एवं, Romanized Sanskrit: evaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: thus) is not established. Because the two letters ཨེ་ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: एवं, Romanized Sanskrit: evaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: thus) are seen in other sutras and tantras, and because it is not here, the argument arises that the teacher did not declare it, therefore it is very appropriate to establish it. From the Root Tantra itself, in order to dispel that doubt, if it is said that there is no fault, even if ཨེ་ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: एवं, Romanized Sanskrit: evaṃ, literal Chinese meaning: thus) is established, it is sufficient to establish the dispelling of doubt in the Root Tantra itself. The reasoning is the same, how to dispel one? In the Vimalaprabha and the Vajrahṛdaya Commentary, because there is no direct perception, the explanation of the tantra is said to be unreasonable, and this should also be examined. If that is the case, explaining the tantra without direct perception is also unreasonable, because it is the same. If relying on an explanation with direct perception,

If it is said that explaining has no fault, then how can someone without clairvoyance know the commentary made by someone with clairvoyance? If they do know, then even without clairvoyance, relying on the oral instructions of a lama with clairvoyance, why can't one explain the tantras? If there are oral instructions passed down from Vajradhara, then even without clairvoyance, one can understand the meaning of the tantras. If there are no oral instructions, even if one has five clairvoyances, one will not be able to understand the meaning of the tantras, just like some non-Buddhist hermits who have clairvoyance that knows the past and future of sixty-six kalpas of formation, abiding, destruction, and emptiness. Therefore, this is just slandering the tantra commentaries of the Indian scholars. To understand the meaning of the tantras, one does not necessarily need five clairvoyances. At the beginning of the root tantra, the Condensed Tantra, Excellent Moon asked about the nature of the twenty-five categories of knowable things, such as the Purusha of the Samkhya school. This analysis of characteristics without a basis is unreasonable, so the Thupa will not prophesy about it; this is an unpredicted question. For example, it is the same as questions like "Does the self exist?" and "Does the world have an end?" Regarding the arising of beings, the womb-born are fire, the egg-born are wind, the heat-moisture-born are water, the spontaneously born are earth, and the great spontaneously born are said to have the place of origin in the dust of corpses. This is the doctrine of the beautiful shore. Some trees are said to have sentient beings in the form of trees, and it is not reasonable to say that is correct. The scriptures say that there are sentient beings in the form of pillars, etc., which are temporary hells, not animals. Some say that the trees have horse heads, which contradicts the fact that Uttarakuru and other places are said to be human realms. And so on, all are included in the category of animals. This is the good view of the naked ascetics who believe that trees are single-sense organs among the nine categories of living beings. The world is created by particles called "emptiness." This is the supreme doctrine of the Vaisheshika school. The measurements and shapes of the continents, Mount Meru, etc., do not agree with the Abhidharma. If it is said that there is no contradiction in the thoughts of sentient beings, then why deny the doctrine of the Vedic scholars who say that the realm of Brahma has an area of millions of yojanas? If that is not established even in conventional terms, then millions of yojanas.
