Sa! If warm cotton clothes can keep out the cold, a person will look beautiful. When the signs of energy in the channels and winds appear, even if one engages in impure conduct (485) without caution, one will not be ridiculed by others. If not, but because of the pleasant sensation in one's own body, one seeks after the pleasure of desire, and practices the channels and winds, it is like the heretics who speak of desire as Dharma, practicing the channels and winds. Considering this, some wise people have said, "The channels and winds of attachment are the root of affliction." This is also considering this. It is not for the sake of pursuing the attachment to pleasant sensations, but for the benefit of beings, the Vajradhara himself, at best for three months, moderately for six months, and at worst for three years and three months, in order to accomplish the Vajradhara, one should practice the channels and winds, generate the mind of enlightenment, and thereby cut off those wrong paths. After that, the wrong paths of the mind in the completion stage are: the feeling of pleasure, the body's comfort, the mind's ease, almost melting away. If one is attached to these, one will stray into the realm of desire gods. The clear feeling, empty and naked, like the clear sky (486). One thinks that one can also understand the minds of others. If one is attached to these, one will stray into the realm of form gods. The feeling of emptiness, everything is empty, stunned there. One even feels that one's own body does not exist. If one is attached to these, one will stray into the formless realm. The so-called attachment is to hold these as supreme. Definite understanding arises, and one holds it in the mind. Whatever arises, one just stares at it. If there is no attachment, one can walk the path to enlightenment. When monks and novices go to the mountains to practice, the Dharma robes, kasaya, lower garments, etc., even if they do not meet the standards, it will not be a fault. It is permissible to have a lower garment that is one cubit long, and it is not a fault if the hair and beard are long. These are clearly explained in the opening chapters of the Vinaya. As for food, if one performs internal fire pujas, tsokhors, etc., there is no fault even if one enjoys them. However, alcohol should only be used as a samaya substance, and should not be drunk. In general, it is best to observe a single-seat vow of silence. In this way, one's conduct will not stray into wrong paths (487). For example, the alchemical substance is very special, and it turns any metal into gold when applied to it. Similarly, when the mind of enlightenment is stable, most non-virtuous deeds will be transformed into virtuous deeds, and all virtuous deeds will go on the path to enlightenment. Therefore, the best way to cut off all wrong paths is the mind of enlightenment.

Enter into it! For example, that burning sword of wisdom can completely cut off all afflictions. Similarly, the sword of wisdom emptiness can cut off all the nests of clinging to reality and clinging to signs. Similarly, if emptiness and compassion are combined, even if there are many faults, there is no fear of making mistakes. Thus, in the Wood Snake year (Tibetan calendar), on the sixth day of the waxing moon of the month of the head star, in the second period of dusk, Raga Asya immediately said what he thought of. At that time, Lama Tsondu Gyatso, riding the wind horse of his finger, wrote these down. May this virtue cause those of low intelligence who dwell in the mountains to generate a mind like an ocean for the benefit of beings! Chapter Thirty-Five, auspicious and complete! Om! From the oral instructions of the Mountain Dharma Retreat, the chapter called "The Rain of Nectar for Removing Obstacles" ends. Homage to Vajrapani! Holding the vajra of emptiness that destroys all, pointing the threatening finger of immeasurable compassion at beings, wearing the blue robes of the three vows of purity, may the Lama Secret Lord protect me! If a person who strives single-mindedly in practice does not understand the profound instructions for removing obstacles, the fruits of practice may be destroyed by hail. Although there are countless ways to remove obstacles, they are mainly divided into three types: preliminary practices, main practices, and subsequent practices. Preliminary obstacle removal refers to the empowerment, transmission, and oral instructions to be practiced before retreat, whether the transmission is too long, like a rotten rope that is broken. It is rare for the Buddha's lineage to be unbroken. Whether the minds of the upper and lower lamas are in harmony. Even if the transmission of words is not interrupted, is the transmission of practice interrupted? Is the transmission of the meaning of realization interrupted? Even if one has realization, is the actual practice correct? Due to these key points, the blessings will become distant, and even if one practices according to the Dharma, signs will not appear in time. After receiving the empowerment and transmission, until the start of actual practice, the lama's mind is slightly displeased. One generates wrong views, insults, quarrels, and other behaviors. These factors of breaking vows can lead to many obstacles. Even if one practices, it is difficult to achieve, and this is an obstacle. Therefore, on auspicious days such as the tenth day, extensively set up empowerment tsok offerings. Perform the self-entry and preliminary empowerment practices according to the ritual. If it is a new practice, then receive self-entry according to the ritual. In addition, visualize the preliminary deity lama.
