There was a young novice monk who, after being caught by a king who delighted in giving alms, said, "I have never killed anyone like this before." The executioners said, "Boil him in a copper pot." I said, "The meaning of my ordination has not been accomplished, please allow me to meditate for seven days." They agreed. Within five days, he had not realized anything. One of the king's consorts was sentenced to death, and was killed and dismembered in front of that bhikshu. He thought, "This beautiful body, which once brought joy, is now full of feces and filth, extremely impure." He therefore attained the impure contemplation. Due to disgust, he became an Arhat in that instant. When the seven days were up, they covered the copper pot with a lid, poured in mustard oil, boiled it for a day, and then opened it. He was unharmed, sparkling like a dewdrop. The king was amazed and asked him the reason. He said, "I meditated for seven days and attained Arhatship." The king thought, "I have accumulated many sins for a long time." He felt regret and prayed for purification of sins. He said, "I know nothing about the bhikshu, please pray to the Khenpo." He displayed various miracles and then passed into Nirvana. People built a stupa for his relics there. The king's own real city, ten yojanas east of Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya), is near the water of the departed Ganges. He sent a messenger to Arhat Name, in order to seek a way to purify my sins, should I go there, or should the Holy One come here? Because he was afraid of harming others, the Holy One quickly came before the king. In order to purify sins, he said, "Build one hundred million stupas with relics." The king said, "I cannot accomplish that many." The Holy One said, "You have been prophesied by the Victorious One, you have authority over humans and non-humans, and it will surely be accomplished before long." The descendants of King Ajatashatru hid a cartload of relics in the garden of light. When he dug up that land, a wheel of weapons appeared, so he could not find it. Having heard that a woman had drawn a tributary of the Ganges, (the Holy One) said, "Cut it off." It was found, the water flow was cut off, and the wheel disappeared. When the relics were dug up, a precious letter appeared, which said, "The future king will be found this treasure by a poor man." They did not agree (to dig).

O Earth! People call someone like me poor. Saying it's a race, the search for relics was interrupted. Admonishing not to be arrogant because it's the Buddha's lineage, After being urged, they searched again and placed them in a precious box. In the four directions, one precious jewel was placed in each. They constantly perform the work of lamps. During the reign of King Ashoka, Even the value of each jewel was not enough. The king's arrogance was diminished and became subdued. After that, four large containers of relics were invited. The capacity of one small container was one khala. The remainder was expanded and hidden as before. Above it, a wonderful stupa was built. Jambhala and Yaksha wooden chariots were completed. A Yaksha with great magical powers, became a minister who accomplished tasks without delay. He helped subdue Jambudvīpa (the southern continent). Admonishing humans and non-humans alike, On the earth, pillars of stone were erected as life-sustaining axes. Stupas of the Buddha were built throughout Jambudvīpa. The number of stupas is said to be about a billion. So nowadays it is known as a billion stupas. Three and eight and a billion, and so on, I prostrate to all the Sugata stupas. Nagarjuna also spoke of this. In every place, a relic of the Buddha resides. The sutras say that eighty-four thousand stupas will be built. Only such prophecies appear. He made great contributions to the Buddha's teachings. His name is also called Dharma King Ashoka. Furthermore, in the eight great holy places and so on, many temples were built, and limitless sangha were offered to. He became the benefactor of the Second Council (of Buddhist scriptures). The eyes of King Ashoka's son, Kunala, were guarded by his father's consort, Star Protector. When she could not seduce him due to desire and attachment, She cunningly stole his eyes, and he lived by begging. With the truth of non-anger, his eyes were restored. He renounced in Buddhism and became an Arhat. This is known as the story of Kunala's eyes. A group of merchants going from Jambudvīpa to the ocean, Five times a large ship, Goods fell into the water, and each swam to escape. These people gathered before the king. Even though all accept your commands, The Nagas of the ocean do not listen to your commands. Five times we have been separated from all our goods. Therefore, you should...
