Now, meditate in stages, and offer the seven-branch offering with sincere reverence. The third is the completion of the three bodies: All appearances, meaning to regard all appearances as the illusory deity body. Regard the illusion as one's own mind. Apart from the mind, there is no deity body; apart from the deity body, there is no mind. The clear and empty great bliss deity body, inseparable from mind and deity body, incorporates the three bodies into the path as before. Furthermore, the deity body, free from arising, abiding, and ceasing, is the path of the three bodies. It is said in the Two-in-One Victory: "No arising is the Dharmakaya, no ceasing is the Sambhogakaya, no abiding is the Nirmanakaya, this is the teaching of non-duality." So it is. (310) The result: Abandon all ordinary thoughts, and meditate on the inseparable deity body for six months, and the victorious Sambhogakaya will be attained in this life or during the bardo. The fourth is the completion of both generation and completion stages: Appearance, meaning the appearance of the deity's color, hand gestures, etc., or the clear part, is the generation stage. Although it appears, it is not actually established, or the part without grasping is the completion stage. There is no emptiness apart from appearance, and no appearance apart from emptiness, therefore it is union. From union, it is free from extremes. Just as the deity body symbolizes, all phenomena, including samsara and nirvana, should also be known as the union of appearance and emptiness, free from extremes. From the Manifestation of Wisdom it says: The deity body that purifies the ordinary, (311) the part of appearance is the generation stage, and the part of emptiness is the completion stage, this is the teaching of non-duality. So it is. Speech is self and, meaning to regard oneself and all appearances as deities, and to regard the sounds of sentient beings and elements as mantras like the seven-syllable mantra. Mantras are all sound and emptiness, therefore they are not established with a true nature, like an echo in a valley. The clarity of the sound is wisdom, and emptiness is the expanse, the two are inseparable union. In the Tantra of the True Mantra it says: If you do not recognize sound as mantra, even if you meditate for eons, it will be meaningless. The expanse and wisdom are inseparable, by reciting this, one can become a Buddha in this life. So it is. Because of knowing sound and emptiness, one becomes attached to pleasant sounds, (312) and hates unpleasant sounds, these two are not the meaning of reality, it is ignorance, arising from the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and delusion.

will become. The fruit is: By whatever means one is subdued, one will obtain the manifestation of that form. The mind is: thoughts. That is, attachment to sentient beings and things, hatred arising from anger towards all things, and ignorance that cannot distinguish between what should be taken and what should be abandoned. These three poisons arise naturally without being suppressed. They are neither abandoned by antidotes nor contaminated by the self-grasping of one's own mind. One does not fabricate them, nor follow after them, but lets them be in their natural state, abiding without grasping, and practicing in this way. Thus, the three poisons are purified in their own place without being abandoned. (313) Desire is bliss, bliss is the Sambhogakaya; hatred is clarity, clarity is the Nirmanakaya; ignorance is non-conceptualization, knowing non-conceptualization as the Dharmakaya, therefore there is no doubt of liberation from the three poisons. In the Tantra of the Holy Intentions it is said: The three poisons arise naturally without being suppressed, without abandoning them, liberation is achieved by knowing them as the three kayas. If one knows self-arising and self-liberation, there is no doubt of liberation without the passage of years and months. Also, when the three poisons arise, adopting the gaze of an elephant, staring intently at it, it will not be able to withstand it and will become empty or without self-nature. In short, whatever thoughts and conceptual images arise, such as desire, etc., their arising, ceasing, and abiding are all empty. This is the mind of the yidam. (314) The mind is non-dual, possessing both wisdom and knowledge. The fruit is the attainment of the Dharmakaya, possessing both purity. In short, relying on appearances, one takes the yidam as the path; relying on the yidam, one generates pure appearances; relying on pure appearances, one accumulates merit; relying on the accumulation of merit, one's own nature arises; relying on self-arising, one takes the deity's form, the Mahamudra, as the path. Also, one knows all appearances as deities, one knows deities as mind, one knows mind as the three kayas of clear light, emptiness, and great bliss. Third, relying on appearances, one takes illusion as the path, which is divided into three points. First, establishing appearances as mind. Then, visualizing oneself as the yidam and visualizing the lama on the crown of one's head, praying to remove self-grasping, no longer needing it, wishing that all appearances are one's own mind, and wishing that whatever appears below is like illusion and dreams. (315) For example, in dreams one encounters various things such as men and women, enemies and friends, and experiences various kinds of happiness and suffering, but one's own
