Gradually attain Buddhahood. The Dharani of Akshobhya: Homage to the Bhagavan, the Protector, Akshobhya! Homage to the Three Jewels! Om kamkani kamkani, rocani rocani, trotani trotani, trasani trasani, pratihana pratihana, sarva karma paramparime sarva sattvanam ca svaha! Reciting it three times a day purifies even the five heinous crimes. Reciting it once destroys bad dreams and inauspicious signs. Wearing it on the body pacifies the eight kinds of untimely death. Reciting it in the ear prevents falling into the lower realms. After someone has died, reciting it hundreds of thousands of times, and sprinkling mantra-water and sand on the corpse, liberates from the three lower realms. Wherever one is born, one is liberated from that place and reborn in the higher realms. (558) The five heinous crimes, abandoning the sacred Dharma, and those who slander the noble ones, at the time of death, writing and seeing this dharani, eliminates all obscurations. What need is there to mention those who recite and chant it? This was spoken from the mouth of the infallible, perfect Buddha. Compared to reading all the Tripitaka Dharma, And all conditioned virtuous deeds, One recitation of this mantra is superior to a thousand recitations. It averts all suffering and bad omens, Attains the body of the Sugata, deceives death, Increases those who cannot live to a hundred.
