With reverence! I request the esteemed teacher, the venerable illuminator of the Dharma, the great Vinaya master, to attend to the rite of expiation of offenses. Speak. The Khenpo: Please grant permission according to the Dharma and the Vinaya. Speak. Again, kneel with palms joined at the crown of the head. Venerable Sangha, please listen. I, a Shakya Bhikshu, named so-and-so, due to being a child, ignorant, disrespectful, careless, and under the influence of many afflictions, have committed offenses, both heavy and light, of Parajika and Sanghavasesa (page 845), as well as offenses of Nissaggiya Pacittiya, Pacittiya, and Dukkata. From the moment of committing these transgressions until now, I confess and repent before the Sangha. By confessing and repenting, I will abide in comfort; if I do not confess and repent, I will not. Repeat three times. The Khenpo: Do you see these offenses as offenses? Asks. The confessor: Yes, I see them. The Khenpo: Will you refrain from such actions in the future? The confessor: I will refrain. (page 846) Repeat three times. The Khenpo: It is a means. Speak. The confessor: Excellent. Speak. Again, prostrate three times, stand up and bow. I request the esteemed Dharma, etc., as above, to attend to the rite of expiation, thank you very much. Speak. The Khenpo: I rejoice in your practice according to the Dharma and the Vinaya. Speak. Again, prostrate three times, stand up and bow. I request the esteemed Dharma, etc., to attend to the rite of blessing of offenses. Speak. The Khenpo: Please grant permission according to the Dharma and the Vinaya. Speak. Again, kneel with palms joined at the crown of the head. Venerable Sangha, please listen. I, a Shakya Bhikshu, named so-and-so, due to being a child (page 847), ignorant, disrespectful, careless, and under the influence of many afflictions, have committed any of the thirteen Sanghavasesa offenses and the thirty Nissaggiya Pacittiya offenses. Now, I request the blessing of the Sangha. Today, bless these offenses and perform the Sangha's Uposatha, and in the future, I will repent of these offenses according to the Dharma.

I am grateful for your attention to the Ba ritual. Please be seated. Again, the elders, according to the previous procedure, confess (848), grant vows and blessings. Then, everyone is seated. Recite any praise to Shakyamuni Buddha, as well as the Sixteen Arhats' prostrations and offerings, the lineage of vows, prayers, etc. Finally, the disciplinarian makes prostrations and bows, etc. Please listen to the venerable Khenpo, or Acharya, or Vinaya holder, who illuminates the precious teachings, and the Sangha of monks and nuns, with him as the leader. Therefore, when the fifteenth day of the waxing moon or the fourteenth day of the waning moon appears, please recite each verse spoken by the owner of the temple and the deities of the temple for their benefit. After this request, the Sangha rises, puts on their robes, and recites the third section of the lineage. Among them (849), first is the lineage of prostrations: I prostrate to the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened One, the Possessor of Knowledge and Conduct, the Well-Gone One, the Knower of the World, the unsurpassed Guide of beings, the Teacher of gods and humans, the incomparable Shakya King Buddha, bowing my head to his stainless foot dust. When you, the chief of bipeds, were born, you took seven steps on this great earth, saying: I am the supreme in this world. At that time, I prostrate to you, the wise one. The pure five bodies, supremely (850) beautiful, wisdom like the ocean, like a golden Mount Meru, fame resounding throughout the three realms, like a god, I prostrate to you, the supreme protector. Possessing excellent marks, a face as immaculate as the moon, like gold, I to you... Free from dust, there is no one in the three realms like you, incomparable wise one, I to you...
