Focus your mind and remain slightly still. Light radiates from the bindu in your heart, illuminating and pervading your body. (460) Your mindstream is filled with bliss, and rays of light emanate from every part of your body. Your own body is pervaded with utter clarity. Rays of light emanate from the pores of your skin. Visualize all appearances as pervaded with vivid clarity. Focus your mind for a moment on the bindu in the heart of the guru. Then, repeatedly familiarize yourself with the visualization of radiating light. When sleeping, focus on the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हूँ, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hūṃ) at the heart of the guru and sleep. Other meditation methods are the same as before. This is the forty-fifth contemplation. This is the main basis for the contemplation of seizing the clear light. The reason is that the heart chakra is the main place where the delusion of deep sleep arises. If you meditate on the path by striking at this key point, then it is also the main place where the clear light, the antidote to that delusion, arises. If you think that the other two can also reach that key point, then there is no certainty in such cases. (461) In general, although the heart is the strongest place for the clear light to arise in deep sleep, there are times when it is difficult for the prana to enter that place initially. If you strike at a key point in another place in the central channel, then an experience of clear light in which the prana gathers will arise immediately. If you become accustomed to this repeatedly, then simply by guiding and slightly changing your intention, the clear light in which the prana and mind gather will arise effortlessly in the heart, and there is no impossibility in that. This method can also be applied to dreams and other situations. Therefore, of these three contemplations for seizing the clear light, you should diligently meditate on the one that is easy for you until you achieve results. However, it is not necessary for one person to meditate on all three. Secondly, regarding taking the clear light as the path, although it is divided into two sections: taking the three bodies as the path during the day and the spontaneous arising of the three bodies at night, there is only one contemplation (462) for practice, which is taking the three bodies as the path during the day. First of all, this is very important for practice in between sessions. In the case of the illusory body, this is in place of explaining the three intentions together. Just as it was said before that the root is impermanence and renunciation, and the prayer is like flowers blooming, so too in the session break of clear light, it is the same as impermanence and devotion to the guru as previously explained in the illusory body.

is needed. In illusory body and dreams, the intention of illusion and dream is needed. Here, what is needed is the establishment of the three kayas as the path. The instruction manual of Samdingpa says: There is no clear distinction between sessions. Like entrusting the mind to the vast A, be moderate in tightness and looseness. It means that at the time of the letter A, the mind is neither distracted nor too tight, and one should practice in both equipoise and post-equipoise. Therefore, it is the meaning of practicing in both session and post-session (463). Generally speaking, the way of establishing is the same during the session. However, since the practice method of the session has been explained separately, here it is only in terms of the session interval. That is, I am going to eat, I am going to walk, I am going to sleep. In all activities, I must always remember the three kayas as the path. No matter what I do, at that time, I must entrust my mind to whatever appears, relax my awareness, and only recognize my own face. At that time, the gaze of the eyes should also be slightly relaxed. That is to say, although it is initially a session interval, it will come immediately with just mindfulness when you are relaxed. Then, gradually integrate it into all busy affairs. That is, on top of the various appearances that appear, that clear part is clear, it is the Nirmanakaya. Looking at one's own face a little, it is nothing, that is emptiness, it is the Dharmakaya. Manifesting (464) various manifestations, without modifying them, and without any attachment, just on the clarity of the mind, the essence is inseparable, appearing as one, that is the Sambhogakaya path of self-awareness and self-illumination. Therefore, first learn the virtuous practice of the session interval well. After that, most of the time you can take this as the path, and remember any of the three intentions at this time. At night, the three kayas manifest spontaneously: During the session, strongly focus on the object of focus, and by the power of practicing the three kayas as the path during the session interval, when the clear light is realized during deep sleep at night, then the three kayas of clear light and emptiness union will naturally manifest. The clarity during sleep is: Because various gross appearances do not appear at that time, it is the clarity of awareness itself, and the gateway and signs of appearance.
