Like me, it's like being girdled with a belt. Like that, from the navel, the pulse petals grow in the form of hollow tubes, like the ribs of an umbrella. The navel is the emanation (367) wheel, with sixty-four pulse petals like umbrella ribs, placed face up. The heart is the Dharma wheel, with eight pulse petals just like umbrella ribs. The throat is the enjoyment wheel, with sixteen pulse petals like an umbrella being raised. The crown of the head is the great bliss wheel, with thirty-two pulse petals, like the ribs of an umbrella. All four wheels have no distinction between outer and inner layers. Those numbers are all nonsense, but the color of all the wheels is red. Meditate on it as if it were red-hot iron, emitting a bright red light. In the upper part of the central channel, meditate on the white letter ཧཾ་ (Tibetan: ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हं, Sanskrit Romanization: haṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Hum) with its head facing down, its nature being a drop, feeling comfortable, cool, and almost melting. In the lower part of the central channel, at the junction of the three channels, meditate on the red letter རཾ་ (Tibetan: རཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: रं, Sanskrit Romanization: raṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Ram) with its head facing up, its nature being extremely hot fire. Measure thirty-four finger-widths from the lower end of the central channel, in the direction of the anus, there is a blue crescent-shaped wind wheel (368) swaying, serving as a cushion. Meditate on its cut surface facing forward. When the foundation of the visualization becomes clear, exhale another breath slowly. Then, the upper breath begins to enter, inhale and press down towards the lower abdomen. At the same time, contract the lower breath, causing it to converge at the navel. If you feel slightly uncomfortable, you should relax. That is, without releasing even a little of the previously held breath, inhale again as little as possible. At the location of the navel, stretch and press to the left, right, and center three directions, and hold as much as possible. If you still feel uncomfortable, you should practice using small force at first, large force in the middle, and finally releasing suddenly. Immediately after that, inhale again and meditate as before. Before becoming proficient, if you feel tired, you can rest at intervals of four breaths, eight breaths, twelve breaths, sixteen breaths, twenty breaths, twenty-four breaths, twenty (369) eight breaths, or thirty-two breaths. You must not stop whenever you want. The visualization is: the breaths enter through the nostrils, pass through the one-way path, and reach the junction of the three channels in the lower abdomen. Because the lower breath is contracted, the breath of the anus

From the navel chakra, a very subtle blue wind arises, standing like a spear and entering the lower end of the central channel. Thus, the three winds of upward-moving air, downward-moving air, and life-sustaining air gather together and are blown onto the seed syllable རཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Rang). From the syllable རཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Rang), the fire of wisdom, Tummo, blazes like a flame. Like a burning candle, the tip of the flame is extremely thin and sharp, like a red hairbrush. A subtle, clear, and radiant flame burns longer and longer. After a few breaths, one feels as if touching the syllable ཧཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हं, Romanized Sanskrit: haṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at the crown of the head. Then, gradually, as the syllable ཧཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हं, Romanized Sanskrit: haṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) melts, the stream of bodhicitta descends like a stretched white thread. Imagine it becoming longer and longer, dissolving into the syllable རཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Rang) at the navel. (370) Generally, there are three ways to practice Tummo: focusing solely on the fire, focusing on the bindu, and focusing on the burning and dripping of the fire. This refers to the latter. In the latter method, there are various approaches, such as fleeing and chasing, like combing tangled hair, and half-body diffusion. This refers to the middle way. That is to say, in the center of the central channel, both burning and dripping are continuous. Furthermore, taking the center of the central channel as the basis, one should visualize the fire burning in front and the bodhicitta dripping behind. It is said that wherever the light of the burning Tummo reaches, a burning sensation will occur inside the body. When the clear light of the dripping bodhicitta appears, one should believe that the entire body feels extremely blissful, alternating these two feelings in the mind. During meditation breaks, dedicate the merit to enlightenment. In this way, the visualization becomes elaborate; this is the seventh visualization cycle. If someone with dull faculties practices this (371), they can do separate meditations on the three channels, the four chakras, the seed syllables, the combination of winds, and the burning and dripping. The intermediate visualization method of eating Tummo as food is to abandon all the parts including the four chakras, the navel chakra, and the belt-like structures, and only visualize as before. The condensed visualization method is to abandon the upward-moving and downward-moving airs on top of that. The unique feature here is that the two breaths inhaled through the nostrils descend like spears from the left and right sides of the central channel. When they reach about six or eight finger-widths below the navel, they meet the air that is contracting upwards from below. Like a collision, they return upwards to stand up, and all enter the lower end of the central channel, stimulating the syllable རཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Rang).
