In general, all are unreal, and especially taking into account that it is known in a dream, (542) only meditation is important. Then, from the haṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:हं,梵文罗马拟音:haṃ,汉语字面意思: 吽) at the crown of the head, a white bindu the size of a pea falls completely. It reaches the heart. Ignorance is cleared away. Above the heart, it is comfortable, but it also decreases. From the hūṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:huṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) at the lower end, a red bindu the size of a pea falls. It reaches the heart. Desire is cleared away. The lower abdomen is comfortable, but it also decreases. The two, white and red, gather in the heart. Hatred goes to self-purification. Think that it is comfortable in the heart, but it also decreases. In the state of strong desire that everything is unreal and like a dream, the two bindus of the central channel in the heart, in the manner of chasing each other, rotate clockwise and counterclockwise, turning as it is comfortable for your own mind. This is the key point of the vase empowerment. If (543) one after another touches slightly, slightly, have faith in this. This is the secret empowerment. Then, believe that by touching, the body and mind become extremely comfortable. This is the wisdom empowerment. Finally, in the state of one dissolving into the other, vanishing without attachment, remain in non-objectification. This is related to the key point of the fourth empowerment. In between, strongly generate some desires that everything is unreal and like a dream. In the breaks between sessions, do not separate from impermanence, devotion, and the desire of dreams. Having gained stability in what has been grasped, the second is training in dreams. At this time, training is done through desire. Guru yoga and so on are as before, and when making supplications, change it to: Please bless me to accomplish dreams. (544) Train without certainty only through desire, and continuously generate the desire that whatever is trained in the dream mind-body is training. Pass through pillars, walls, etc., enter small holes, and repeatedly try fearful things such as fire, water, wild animals, cliffs, etc. Fly in the sky and enter the ground. In particular, repeatedly try to overcome types of difficult to cut off thoughts such as shame and disgust. Sometimes contemplate unreality, sometimes train through reversal. Train during the day through desire, and actually train at night in dream appearances. Expansion and so on can be known from the scriptures. If it is not grasped, it can be restarted. Make what has been grasped stable. The important instructions on cutting off distractions and so on should also be known from the oral instructions. For all phenomena that are like dreams (545), if one always knows them as dreams, the womb doors of the six realms of existence will be empty, and the clear light deity body will naturally arise. Fourth, clear light, self-liberation of ignorance, preliminaries.

In this way, contemplate impermanence and generate renunciation. The main practice is grasping the clear light: Visualize yourself as the supreme deity, clearly manifest, upon a four-cushion seat on your crown. The root guru has a high topknot of dreadlocks, adorned with bone ornaments, a tiger skin, and the eight charnel ground adornments. You can also visualize Vajradhara, or Heruka in peaceful, wrathful, or three-eyed form. At the end of the supplication, say, "Please grant that I realize the clear light." Recite this with great devotion and fervent supplication (546). In the center of the body is the white central channel. Directly in front of the heart is a four-petaled white lotus, and upon a moon disc is the root guru, white and radiating light, about the size of a thumb. In the heart is a white drop, the size of a bean, radiating light. Focus on this and rest in equanimity. From there, light radiates, covering the guru's body with brilliant light. The mindstream is filled with bliss. Light rays emanate from the body, pervading your own body. Light rays emanate from the pores of your skin, and visualize all appearances as being filled with brilliant light. Focus on the drop in the heart and repeatedly radiate light. In between, let awareness rest in its natural state. If bliss, clarity, and non-thought arise spontaneously, continue without hope or fear (547). As you fall asleep, focus on the drop in your heart, or on the Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 吽) syllable, which is like the color of mercury. During breaks between sessions, practice impermanence and devotion to the guru. In particular, the method of applying the three kāyas to the path: Let the eyes rest like an elephant's gaze. Relax awareness. Whatever arises, maintain your own nature. Understand the clarity of various appearances as the Nirmāṇakāya, the emptiness of knowing your own nature as the Dharmakāya, and the self-aware, self-luminous union of the two as the Sambhogakāya, and thus take them as the path. Destroy the clinging to the eight worldly concerns. It is crucial at all times that conceptual thoughts are not allowed to wander freely, but are self-liberated and self-purified. Mixing, following up, removing obstacles, and increasing merit are explained in the texts (548). Train in transferring conceptual thoughts into the expanse. Block the false cave of ignorance and samsara. All appearances, with and without form, are the nature of clear light. This is the heart's blood of the hand-given instructions. Fifth, Buddhahood attained without practicing transference: In this case, the supplementary instruction is the Wisdom Star Window method. Visualize your body as the deity, visualize the guru on your crown, etc., as in the illusory body practice. At the end of the supplication, pray, "Please accomplish Buddhahood in the bardo." Recite this. The guru dissolves into you. The emptiness of the body.
