Therefore, if one becomes accustomed to the mind without an object of focus, one will attain the unsurpassed Bodhi.’ They hold this view. For those who are not certain about this principle and are too eager to meet the Lama, they should be led into the Dark Yoga. Otherwise, it does not seem necessary to rely on such a principle, as it is the only path to enter through individual contemplation. Second, guiding the intermediate sharp-witted yogi with signs by joining the tip of the tongue to the palate. Second, guiding the intermediate sharp-witted yogi with signs by joining the tip of the tongue to the palate, which has three parts: preliminary, main practice, and conclusion. The first is the preliminary: The practitioner sits in the vajra posture, covering both knees with hands in mudra. The spine is straightened, and the neck is slightly curved. At the end of exhaling twenty-one continuous breaths in one breath, exhale slowly and completely three times. The second is the main practice, which includes binding the movement of the sun and moon, the vase-like breath; making the bindu remain in the state of bliss, the great bliss breath; and sipping the nectar of the uvula, the immortal breath. The first includes the body posture, gaze, focus, and unifying breath. First, the body posture: squatting on a stool, secured with a meditation belt. The hands are crossed, and the back of the fists presses the perineum. The spine is straightened, the neck is slightly curved, the tip of the tongue touches the palate, and there is a slight gap between the lips. The second is the gaze: looking upwards towards the space between the eyebrows with a nectar-swirling gaze. The third is: ‘Whatever the vajra sun thinks, one should see the seed within the jewel. With the aspect of the wisdom mandala, the three realms should appear thus.’ The vajra sun is the tummo (inner heat) of the navel chakra, and the word ‘also’ indicates that it manifestly melts. ‘Whatever thinks’ is the Bodhicitta (mind of enlightenment). ‘See the seed within the jewel’ means that at the moment of entering the jewel, the sixteenth part that does not drip is the co-emergent joy, the nature of great bliss without the aspect of wisdom. ‘With the aspect of the mandala’ means that being united with it, free from all obscurations, like a pra phab pa, the wheel of the mandala manifesting with the splendor of possessing all the supreme aspects of the immeasurable clouds of the Buddha's rays of light. ‘The three realms should appear thus’ means that all three realms are made of one equal taste with it, which is the meaning of the words. Furthermore, here, the sound of the tongue controls the karma wind and the Bodhicitta, and the palate... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

17-448 17-449

Combining the wisdom fire with emptiness, through combination, they are made to be of one taste. The method of yoga is to visualize any chosen deity as merely an illusory appearance, and within the central channel of the body, a green Avadhuti (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, literal Chinese meaning) is inserted upwards into the Brahma aperture at the crown of the head, with the lower end cut off four fingers below the navel. The two Rasana nadis are inserted into the nostrils, with the lower ends slightly facing the central channel and cut off. Within the central channel, visualize the Tummo wisdom fire as being as hot as if all the fires of the world were piled together, flickering like hairs moved by the wind, and as red and clear as the sun, the size of one finger. The lower wind is drawn intensely into the area below the navel, causing it to gather like a cloud at the opening of the central channel. Then, the upper and lower winds are inhaled equally, causing them to enter the Dhuti and become of one taste with the fire, and one should become accustomed to focusing on this with a single-pointed mind. Through this, the winds of earth and other elements will return to their respective places, and empty forms such as smoke will appear. By stabilizing the experience of combining luminosity with these empty forms, dividing the day into eight sessions, one should perform short breath retentions during half of each session. Then, double the breath retention time to medium, and then double it again to long, thereby attaining the state of Kumbhaka. Due to the power of the Tummo fire, the naturally occurring nectar seed at the crown of the head melts, and the Bodhicitta descends from the crown to the throat, presenting various appearances, and outwardly purifying from the white first to the fifth day. Similarly, when it reaches the heart chakra, it matures; between the sixth and tenth days. When it reaches the navel chakra, it becomes very subtle; purifying between the eleventh and fifteenth days. When it is completely filled to the tip of the vajra jewel, it transcends characteristics. The sixteenth instant, from the complete fullness of the fifteenth lunar day until the black first day has not yet begun, is completely purified. There, experiencing co-emergent wisdom, at that time, all the chakras are controlled by it, therefore semen naturally rises upwards. From the earth element dissolving into the navel to the wind element dissolving into the lotus of the head, due to the descent of Bodhicitta, therefore, in the nature of the four elements, encouraged by the songs of the four goddesses such as Locana, one obtains all forms of bliss, and the blood boils. 17-448 17-449 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
