Earth is equivalent to aggregates, feeling, thought, formation, and consciousness. (Five Aggregates: Form Aggregate, Feeling Aggregate, Thought Aggregate, Formation Aggregate, Consciousness Aggregate) The Ālayavijñāna (kun gzhi rnam smin, Sanskrit: ālayavijñāna, Romanization: ālayavijñāna, literal meaning: storehouse consciousness) is the Vipāka-vijñāna and the Ādāna-vijñāna. Mind accumulates habits because of it. Always harboring pride, clinging to it, the four afflictions (Four Afflictions: ignorance, egoism, pride, self-love) arise from it. The mind associated with afflictions is called defiled mind. It exists in all stages except for the Path of Manifestation, Entry into Cessation, and the Stage of No More Learning. Once the six consciousnesses (Six Consciousnesses: eye consciousness, ear consciousness, nose consciousness, tongue consciousness, body consciousness, mind consciousness) cease, their nature, location, object, companions, and function all cease. The mental factors arising from the five doors are the six consciousnesses. The nature of mind is pure, but the mind defiles it. The mind associated with consciousness always plants habits. The object of the sense of form is the realm of form, as are the form born of Dharma and the three aggregates (feeling aggregate, thought aggregate, formation aggregate). The realm of Dharma and the final realm of consciousness, because unconditioned dharmas have no function, they are not established as aggregates; they are eight: The three Suchnesses (Three Suchnesses: Self-Nature Suchness, Pure Suchness, Expedient Suchness), space, the two cessations (Two Cessations: Cessation by Choice, Cessation without Choice), immovability, and the Cessation of Feeling and Perception (འགོག་པ་གཉིས,Sanskrit: nirodha-samāpatti,Romanization: nirodha-samāpatti,literal meaning: cessation attainment). The five forms, the three aggregates, and the unconditioned dharmas, these sixteen are the realm of Dharma. Because consciousness arises from there in an instant, it is called a sense. Objects are not constant; if they were, they would become twenty-one. Because of the same essence, they are of the same kind; because of the same function, they are the same realm. Because smell and taste do not have two consciousnesses, there are fourteen in the form realm and three in the formless realm. What is the form realm? Its place of birth is consciousness, mind, and the realm of Dharma. Therefore, the form aggregate and the realm of Dharma, Mind and mind-born can encompass everything. The six realms of eye, etc., have four distinctions: lower eye sense, upper body sense, no body sense. One does not see form, but observes through inference. Everything in one's own ground is the same and consistent. If desired, the eye sense, form sense, and body sense are all like that. What is inconsistent is that there exists a form object. The desire realm and form realm act in their own ground, while the mind realm acts in the three realms. Defiled and undefiled consciousness and the upper realm. Ordinary beings are of the ground of defilement, while noble ones are undefiled. The undefiled mind can know everything. The place and the abiding place are the dependent and the depended upon. The aggregates of defilement and purification are filled in order. The sense realms correspond to the arising and ceasing of the world. Taking that as the cause, the object is the object of perception, the support. Dependent arising, the increase of consciousness, burden, bearing, the meaning of aggregates, seed, and self-characteristic, result and cause are the holding realms. What arises through two or five doors of birth is the place of birth. Form is exemplified by bubbles, dew, etc. The nature of Dharma refers to no-self. Detailed distinctions, classifications, and summaries, the sixty-one aspects, how are they placed? Why examine? To reveal the necessity. Explain from the object of the senses, besides that there are others. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
