The topic has been introduced. To this, I will ask you, venerable ones: 'Are you pure in this?' I will ask two or three times: 'Are you pure in this?' If you, venerable ones, are pure in this, then hold it as such by remaining silent. The remaining parts can be completed by announcing what has been heard, saying thus: 'Venerable ones, the four laws that lead to no defeat, the thirteen Sanghavasesa laws, the two Aniyata laws, the thirty Nissaggiya Pacittiya laws, the ninety-two Pacittiya laws, the four Patidesaniya laws, many Sekhiya laws, and the seven Adhikaranasamatha laws, these arise from the recitation of the Pratimoksha Sutra every half month, which you have heard before or will hear later.' This should be said. If reciting the Parajika, recite it like reciting the Pratimoksha, and then announce the hearing starting from the Sanghavasesa. This applies similarly to the other two. One should begin and strive to enter the Buddha's teachings. Like an elephant entering a lotus pond, one should destroy the army of the Lord of Death. Whoever, with great mindfulness, practices in this Dharma and Vinaya, having completely abandoned the cycle of rebirth, will ultimately end suffering. For the sake of protecting the precepts with each other, and for the flourishing of the teachings, by reciting this Pratimoksha, the Sangha will perform the Uposatha. Because the Sutra is recited, and because the Uposatha is performed, the precepts should be guarded, just like the tip of a yak's tail. By the merit of reciting the Pratimoksha, may all beings in the world attain the state of Buddhahood. If not all are present on the Uposatha day, wait until the time. If they are still not all present, set out offerings and sit one in front of the other, saying thus: 'Venerable Sangha, please listen. Today is the fifteenth Uposatha of the Sangha, and I, the Bhikshu named so-and-so, am pure of obstructive Dharmas, I say this. Please, venerable ones, regard me as pure. I, the Bhikshu named so-and-so, for the sake of perfecting the aggregate of precepts, bless the Uposatha today.' When a gathering of the Sangha is found, one should extensively experience the Uposatha together with the Sangha, and one should also recite the Pratimoksha Sutra.' Repeat this three times and do it skillfully. Blessing alone is: the gods rejoice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘ངས་སུ་གསོལ་ཞེས་པ་’ (ngas su gsol zhes pa) and ‘མཐར་ལྷ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་གཟུང་དུ་གསོལ་ཞེས་’ (mthar lha rnams kyis gzung du gsol zhes), except for replacing the former with the latter, the rest should be the same as before. Second, the basis of the summer retreat: The second part is the basis of the summer retreat, including the preparation for the summer retreat and the commitment to the summer retreat. First, about half a month in advance, the patrons should be notified, the usage of the villages should be informed, Food, medicine and lodging should be prepared for the Sangha. If there is a Lama, the lodging and supplies should be prepared in advance. On the fasting day of the middle summer month, the lodging should be arranged. One or more monks should be appointed. The worker asks a monk: 'Are you willing to arrange a summer residence for the Sangha?' If the monk answers 'willing', the worker should say: 'Venerable Sangha, please listen. A certain monk is willing to arrange a summer residence for the Sangha. If the Sangha considers the time ripe and appropriate, please allow the Sangha to accept it.' All members of the Sangha should appoint a certain monk to be the arranger of the residence, and this arranger of the residence should state the arrangement of the summer residence to the Sangha. This is a request. The Sangha requests, and the monk agrees. Appointed for this purpose, if the virtuous ones consider a certain monk suitable to be appointed as the arranger of the residence, please remain silent. If anyone disagrees, please speak up.' Repeat once. Conclusion: 'The Sangha has agreed and allowed a certain monk to be appointed as the arranger of the residence.' ‘Just as everyone remains silent, it is decided in this way.’ Say this. The appointed monk should prepare a staff about one cubit long, which should be straight, without bending, without damage, with good color, fragrant smell, and soft to the touch. A white cloth should be laid on the lid of the box and placed next to the auspicious elder. Then, bowing and standing up, say: 'Venerable Sangha, please listen. In this auspicious temple called so-and-so, there is such a rule: in the summer Sangha, no disputes should be caused by any of the four causes of disputes; repair damaged residences and walls; outside the unblessed area, one should not go out before dawn.' Whoever among you is willing to abide by these rules and stay here, take this staff. Whoever among you will cause disputes in the summer Sangha,’ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ར་མི་བྱའོ། །
