He listened to all of these, and practiced according to what he had learned, while also serving as a translator. At that time, during the New Year's exorcism ritual, many people came to strike the torma (ritual cake), including those considered to be capable monks, especially Jigje, who was considered to be an emanation of Geshe (Doctor of Buddhist Philosophy) Je Tsongkhapa of the Gelugpa school. As they struck the torma, a black whirlwind arose, turning everything upside down. Feeling doubtful, at that moment, a mantra practitioner and his disciple practiced the great protector torma according to the tradition of Chokro, a student of Palchenpo Rwa Lotsawa, and threw it out, and the whirlwind immediately subsided as if it had been blocked. Due to the unexpected change, some of the torma procession even ran towards the direction where the torma was thrown, carrying drums, which made him even more surprised. He was different from others, he sponsored all the necessary temporary manuscripts, etc., which was very helpful.’ He often started from the evening, not sleeping, but only focusing on practice, until the next morning. In order to welcome Je Tsongkhapa, he traveled to all the places of the great lords such as Jang Taklung, Gongkar Yargyab, Samye, Khrangpo, Chushul, Nyethang, Thon, Yarlung East and West. Because he served as an attendant, he was familiar with all the great figures. While traveling, he generously gave alms. During this time, he also visited the sacred objects of Lhasa's Jo Shakya (Jowo Shakyamuni), Tshel Gungtang Monastery, Samye Migyur Lhüngyis Grubpa (Samye Unchanging Spontaneous Temple), Drak Yerpa, Jampa Ling, etc., and made prayers. Once, Je Tsongkhapa said: ‘Now is the time of short life, many diseases, the five degenerations, and the great harm of demons, full of harm and injury. Now is not the time to extensively study the Dharma, but to take practice as the core. In particular, in our lineage, there have been those who have come to know everything by knowing one thing. Knowing one thing comes from taking practice as the core. Therefore, you should also go to Druk Sewa Jangchub Ling in Tashi Choling every three years.’ At that time, the Geshes (Doctors of Buddhist Philosophy) who were with him were: Lharampa Pandita Pelrin, Dharmapa, Rindor, etc., who were the famous ‘Three Gardens’ of Amdo. There was also a mantra practitioner named Shakya Pel, who was considered unparalleled, proficient in the Father Tantras such as Chakrasamvara (དཔལ་འཁོར་ལོ་བདེ་མཆོག།, श्रीचक्रसम्भर, śrīcakrasaṃbhara, 胜乐轮) and the Six Yogas of Naropa. He and you and some others, with the support of Je Tsongkhapa, stayed there in retreat. This place was blessed by Tsangpa Gyare and his disciples, especially due to the auspicious connection of the Dharma King's tongue relic, the name of this monastery was given to the lineage. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although places like Sapas Zhugpa were blessed due to their unique features, they became obstacles for practicing wrathful deities. After some time, due to prolonged abandonment, they became desolate. Especially those in retreat, due to their strong meditative power, all obstacles arose simultaneously. Some were openly besieged by armies of gods and demons, while others encountered armies of cats and various deceptions. You (the author) yourself experienced demons banging on doors and windows, deafening noises, howling winds, screaming sounds, various terrifying images appearing, echoing in the mountains, being burned by fire, drowned in water, crushed by stones, and red-faced monkeys swarming like armies. These were not just experiences and dreams, but actually happened once or twice. Even worse, the four elements of the body were imbalanced, afflicted by a disease similar to leprosy. However, he considered these adversities as spiritual friends, the disease as a broom sweeping away karmic obscurations, and the obstacles as guides leading to accomplishments. From previously hearing the Mahamudra, he easily cultivated Shamatha-Vipassana meditation and could arise like the natural state of Shamatha-Vipassana. He focused single-mindedly on visualizing deities, reciting mantras, and the contraction and expansion of meditation, never living as an ordinary person except for eating, sleeping, and defecating. The less he lived as an ordinary person, the more miraculous phenomena increased. He and his companions exchanged information, discussing what happened and what didn't. Two Drungpas and three Drung Shakyapas, although they completed their retreats and attained realization, passed away. Rabjam Zhonnu became slightly mad, but later received blessings and slept peacefully in Mtodo. Later, he was struck by lightning but was unharmed, becoming a great realized being. You (the author) did not engage in long retreats, but at the end of three years, all obstacles naturally subsided. He personally saw Lama Sangye, and like the realization of Mahamudra bringing sunlight to darkness, all ignorance vanished without a trace. From then on, he could freely see Pal Khorlo Dompa, Dorje Naljorma, Phyagdor, and Yeshe kyi Gonpo, brother and sister. As well as the Karma Protector and other deities. After that, he emerged from retreat and went before his guru (referring to his guru). Later, he stayed in Sminthog for six months, in Dechen Chokhor of Phyingrui hermitage for a year, in Gyerkyi Monastery for a year, spent one winter in Byartsin, stayed in Tsari for five years, and in other places practiced very strict oral instructions annually or monthly. In the continuous practice, he practiced the outer, inner, and secret three yogas of Guru Yoga and experienced the realization of dependent origination. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
