That is the view. These are categorized according to the order of before and after. The meaning is that if it becomes the expanse of mind-holding, the view is one in its own place. Although ordinary people separate them individually, they are not related in meaning. This is it. Secondly, the ocean of instructions, leave it as it is. Not meditating is one thing, but the key is to look without blinking when meditating. That is, the self-radiance of mirror-like wisdom (353) penetrates the lamp of water. When consciousness is focused on the eyes, the radiance of great clarity will arise. The eyes are placed in the ocean, and the appearance of the image appearing in the water is kept as self-radiance. That is the most important point. For example, in the ocean, the images of the stars are clearly visible, but because they do not move from the ocean, they exist in the realm of appearance, but not in the realm of grasping. Similarly, when the eyes are wide open and the consciousness is clear, the external appearances do not cease to appear, but the consciousness does not fall into the appearance, but remains clear in non-conceptual self-awareness. Appearance does not confuse consciousness, and consciousness does not grasp appearance. Appearance and consciousness are unrelated, and they remain naturally clear, cut off from each other. This is the ocean of meditation instructions, leaving it as it is. From the absence of letters, it is naturally uncorrected and naturally left as it is. Not transformed by appearance, not created by mind. (354) When the nature of reality abides in the sky, it is shown as the view. Dharmakaya wisdom, abandoning all thoughts, if there is no movement, it is the supreme king of meditation. If you do not hold on to any object, it is like stars appearing in the ocean. The clear part of the holder does not cease to be clear. The way of abiding in the view is the same. So it is said. If the appearance of the six aggregates ceases during meditation, then it is a mistake to meditate on the cessation of the Hearers. If you hold on to the clear with distinctions, then it is a mistake to meditate on the gods of concentration. If you fall into nihilistic emptiness, then it is a mistake to meditate on the nihilistic of the heretics. If you become attached to happiness, then it is a mistake to meditate on the mind of the desire gods. If you fall into a state of equanimity and indifference, then it is a mistake to meditate on the attachment of ignorance. If you cling to the self-pleasure of separation, then it is a mistake to meditate on the consciousness of the self-nature of desire. All of these are mistaken by the defilement of clinging to extremes. Therefore, in the Madhyamaka-karika, it says: It is not the clear with distinctions, (355) It has not fallen into the emptiness of separation, Happiness is not continuous, Equanimity is not indifferent, Practice is not

Furthermore, 'Easy to move within the holding aspect.' And, 'From the absence of letters, there is naturally no sinking or excitement.' 'Not straying' means: The awareness that is free from those faults, self-illuminating, vast, liberated, completely free, and not lost in ordinariness. It is clear without grasping or conceptualization of objects. As it says in the Transcendent One: 'When the doors of the senses are clear, and the mind does not conceptualize, the mind itself engages in awareness, without straying outwards. This is the meditation of abiding without straying.' So it is said. Third, the view of placing appearances and existence as the basis: Having meditated in that way, all phenomena of appearances and existence, all that appears as objects in the mind, remain in their own place as the great basis of self-appearance. Grasping and being grasped are equal, dissolving into the Dharmakaya. Therefore, the intervals between sessions merge into one great (356) unity. At this time, afflictions are sealed with the seal of Dharma-nature, and it is called the arising of wisdom. Just as a mold is impressed on clay, the image appears clearly. Similarly, whatever knowledge arises, it arises as wisdom. The yogi of this time is known as the time of abiding in the Dharma, because the meditation of self-nature abides as a natural quality in whatever appears. The yogi who makes meditation the path has been shown. The third point, turning conduct into yoga, has three parts: conduct taming appearances, instructions abiding in appearances, and view establishing appearances and existence as the basis. The first has three parts: the conduct of a beginner, the conduct of distinguishing samsara and nirvana, and the conduct of asceticism holding the breath. First, those who initially enter the Dharma should restrain the three doors and strive in the common Dharma practices of day and night, such as prostrations, circumambulations, listening, thinking, and so on (357). Whatever goes into the Dharma, accumulate merit and turn away from evil. Subdue the mind thoroughly. Practice the ten Dharma practices and so on. The instructions for all Dharma practices are from the Tantra of Manifest Realization: 'Writing, offering, giving, listening, reading, holding, explaining, reciting, remembering, and meditating, these ten are the doors of the Dharma.' So it is said. The conduct of distinguishing samsara and nirvana: The yogi should train and enhance the skill of practice at this time. As it says in the Transcendent One: 'If you do not distinguish samsara and nirvana,
