Regarding relapse and suchness, to properly engage with that is why. (564) If that is certain to become liberation, that will certainly arise from those. Thus it is said. In the Two Examinations, it is said: Attachment binds the world, attachment itself becomes liberation. Thus it is said to be skillful means. By relying on an object, non-object arises greatly. By relying on non-object, non-object arises greatly. Therefore, the object is accomplished as the nature of non-object. Therefore, one should know that object and non-object are equal. As it is also said in the Middle Extremes. Thus, the previously explained distinctions between samsara and nirvana, etc., the ordinary appearances, the coarse appearances of habitual clinging that are easy to arise in the mind, etc. Then, by gradually gathering the inner distinctions, enhancements, and skill training, etc., the sensory consciousness is not distracted elsewhere (565) and is bound. By this, the six aggregates of consciousness gather into one, and the mind that scatters to other objects is pacified. Then, in relation to the unconditioned Dharma, the basis of the six objects of perception is also not kept in mind, and one does not contemplate on any of the characteristics of self-appearance, emptiness, what is to be abandoned, or the antidote, but remains as it is. Reality is the meaning of non-fabrication, and abiding is abiding in that nature, therefore it is called real abiding. The second is, in the Madhyamakavatara, it is said: At this time, the essence of body, speech, and mind, those with yoga should truly abide. Thus it is said. In the Past Deeds, it is said: Then, the three, body, speech, and mind, skillfully and truly abide. As it is said, in a comfortable seat, the body and mind sit cross-legged or squat, etc., whichever is comfortable, remain in their natural state, without moving or shaking. Speech, let alone speaking, even the breath is not fabricated (566) and remains. The mind, not only non-virtuous and unspecified, but also abandoning even the mere thought of virtuous aspects, remains in its natural state. Just as water, if not turbid, becomes clear, so the three doors become clear on the ground, thus the cause of stability and peace is fully accomplished. As it is also said in the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra: To practice yoga in the Perfection of Wisdom is to practice yoga in the sky. Thus it is said, and the key point is the same. By this, for the time being, the three doors truly abide, so the elements are not disturbed, and diseases and obstacles do not arise.

Abiding in the meditation of essence and nature. Ultimately, the clinging of the three doors (body, speech, and mind) will be naturally liberated. The second is the teaching on returning to the original state, and the manner of returning. First, in "Vast Expanse of Luminosity" it says, "In order to realize the meaning of primordial purity, return to the original state from a relaxed state." Therefore, the mind-essence that was previously relaxed, clear, and non-conceptual, is gradually guided through peaceful, moderate, and intense activities, and one should train in habituation. Just as one who wishes to understand the wheel of swords first trains with a wooden sword. Second, in "After the Passing" it says, "The Shravaka, Bodhisattva, and Wrathful One, return to the original state with their respective postures." Therefore, first is the posture of the Shravaka, the body sits still in the seven-point posture, the mouth does not speak, allowing the breath to flow naturally and slowly. The eyes gaze at the space in front of the tip of the nose, without liking or disliking whatever arises in the six consciousnesses, abiding in the original state. In this way, outer appearances manifest clearly in their own nature, but without losing the state of non-conceptuality, this is what should be practiced. As it is said in "Vast Expanse of Luminosity", "With the peaceful posture of the Shravaka, the three doors of body, speech, and mind are relaxed." Second is the posture of the Bodhisattva, the rest is as before, except that the eyes turn to the space, gazing intently, and the momentary consciousness that arises from this also manifests clearly and without obstruction. The moment it arises, one should realize that its self-nature is emptiness, that appearance and emptiness are inseparable, like a reflection of the moon in water. As it is said, "With the posture of the Bodhisattva, one obtains relaxation and bliss." Third is the posture of the Wrathful One, standing without losing the state of meditation, taking unsteady steps, the eyes moving and looking, the mouth uttering sounds like "Ha, ha, hi, hi," and so on, raising awareness, and practicing skills, thereby realizing the self-born, self-arisen, free from elaboration, without needing to accept or reject, like a wave dissolving into the ocean. Therefore, the more outer appearances manifest, the more the wisdom of emptiness increases, just as the more firewood there is, the more flames there are. As it is said, "With the posture of the Wrathful One, one also accomplishes relaxation and three qualities." The Shravaka causes the three doors to abide in their own nature, the Bodhisattva causes abiding
