'Unborn' (Tibetan: མ་སྐྱེས་པ།), is the nature of emptiness.' (Tibetan: སྟོང་པ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་རང་བཞིན་ནོ།) This means that all phenomena are mind, and the nature of mind is emptiness. Saying only this may lead to the misconception that there is no instruction on the ultimate bodhicitta. Some explain through 'clarity self-established,' 'emptiness self-established,' 'spontaneity self-established,' etc. However, I believe that although the words of the previous masters do not explicitly state it, they actually contain the essence obtained through meaning. As Jetsun (Tibetan: རྗེ་བཙུན་) said: 'If briefly summarizing the tenets of the pāramitā, these are the essential instructions of meaning.' These three appearances are the essence of the view, meditation, and conduct of the pāramitā vehicle. Therefore, it is appropriate to present a pure view of the pāramitā here. The Yogīśvara (Tibetan: རྣལ་འབྱོར་དབང་ཕྱུག་) initially entered the tradition of Asaṅga (梵文:Asaṅga), and later entered the tradition of Nāgārjuna (梵文:Nāgārjuna). He was a great scholar, so it is necessary to present the pure views of these two traditions. Our lineage masters also did this. Some also think that using the term 'searching for the mind' is inappropriate during the view instruction, because it is mixed with other traditions. This is entirely due to unfamiliarity with one's own teachings. In the commentary on 'Undifferentiated Saṃsāra and Nirvāṇa,' it says: 'How not to abandon the clarity of the mind? Clarity is the nature of the mind.' If one carefully examines clarity, no matter where one searches for its place, type, color, or shape, it cannot be found, because it is unestablished. Emptiness is the nature of the mind. Thus, searching for clarity and not finding it is called emptiness. The one who searches for emptiness is called clarity. Furthermore, in the instruction manual 'Clarifying Hidden Meanings' (Tibetan: སྦས་དོན་གསལ་བ་ར།) by Lama Dampa (Tibetan: བླ་མ་དམ་པའི་), it says: 'The actual method of practice is similar to the case of the three meditations. First, let the disciple generate devotion to the guru for a few days, and then relax awareness and enter into recognition.' (Tibetan: ཉམས་སུ་བླང་ཚུལ་དངོས་ནི་སྒོམ་པ་གསུམ་གྱི་སྐབས་དང་འདྲ་བར། བླ་མ་ལ་མོས་གུས་ཞག་འགའ་བྱེད་དུ་བཅུག་ལ། དེ་བར་དུ་ཤེས་པ་གློད་ནས་ངོ་འཛིན་དུ་གཞུག) Gyal Lhakhangpa Lodrö Sengé (Tibetan: རྒྱལ་ལྷ་ཁང་པ་བློ་གྲོས་སེང་གེས་) recorded the teachings of Lama Dampa, which say: 'When entering into the holding of the mind, relax the mind and observe what the nature of your own mind is like.' Like the practitioners of Mahāmudrā, search for as long as possible.' Therefore, this lineage clearly practices searching for the mind. Some also say that the expression 'searching for the mind and introducing the nature of the mind' is inappropriate, because this tradition has not said so. This is actually exposing one's own shortcomings. In the 'Self-Commentary on the View,' the guru...

Firstly, it was well taught and introduced by the master during his time. If one can well recognize such a nature, it is called the view of samsara and nirvana being inseparable. 'Although you have not seen such a statement, it is because the masters of this lineage have put it into practice.' Some also divide the introduction of the view into two types: common and uncommon, which is unreasonable. 13-578 If it is said that this is because the self-tradition does not acknowledge this view, that is also not grasping the key point. Because the mind has two aspects: the deluded aspect of dualistic appearance and the aspect of non-dual clear awareness. Only recognizing the latter is the pure view, the former is not the pure view. Just as 'the union of self-nature luminosity and emptiness,' in the place of the union of luminosity and emptiness, 'great wisdom abides in the body,' that wisdom, and as 'self-nature co-emergent' says, 'all phenomena are summarized into one,' this wisdom has been confirmed. As the self-explanation of the view says: 'Initially, the root tantra says: What is born from co-emergence?' 'That is said to be co-emergent.' 'Self-nature co-emergent' says, 'all phenomena are summarized into one,' its meaning is: there are three co-emergent dharmas, namely, three dharmas of cause co-emergence, three dharmas of path co-emergence, and three dharmas of fruit co-emergence.' And so on, it has been clearly explained. Some also say that the three, appearance is mind, mind is illusion, and illusion is without self-nature, are used to enhance the union of luminosity and emptiness. 'This statement is unreasonable because it is completely irrelevant. If it is said that this is because of babbling without understanding the key points of these three. 13-579 Then, by proving that appearance is mind, it is determined that the object of grasping, the external object, is unreal, which is consistent with the view of the Real Appearance School of Mind-Only. By proving that mind is illusion, it is determined that the grasping mind's delusion is also unreal, which is consistent with the view of the False Appearance School of Mind-Only. By proving that illusion is without self-nature, it is determined that the self-nature luminosity of the mind liberated from grasping and grasped is also unreal, thereby being consistent with the Madhyamaka view of realizing that all phenomena are empty. Therefore, the meaning of 'proving that illusion is without self-nature' is not that what was previously determined to be like illusion is now to be proven to be without self-nature, because the grasping mind's delusion, which was the basis, has already been proven to be like illusion, so there is no need to prove its self-naturelessness here. Therefore, what is said here is the dharma nature of emptiness from grasping and grasped. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
