I offer to all the ghosts and spirits of the north and northeast. I offer to the great Brahma in the heavens, the sun, moon, and great constellations, and all the stars. I offer to the Nagas below, the lords of the earth, and all beings who know the vows. Thus praised. Then, with the hand seal of Namaka Sarva Tathagata Bhyo Vishwa Mukhe Bhyah Sarva Thakham Udgate Spha Rana Imam Gagana Kham Grihne Idam Balya Dam Svaha (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning). Recite three times, offering the torma. Holding the vajra bell: The deities of Vajra in the east and their entourage, please accept these tormas offered! God of fire, Yama, the lord of no strife, the lord of Rakshasas, the god of water, the god of wind, the god of wealth, the powerful god, the lord of beings, the sun and moon above, the great Brahma, all the gods, and all the Nagas on earth, the mountain gods, and all the pure beings, I offer tormas to each of you. Please accept with a joyful mind, and having settled well in your respective directions, with your children, friends, relatives, and retinues, and the inner armies and forces, in a unified way, with garlands, flowers, incense, and offerings of praise, tormas, lamps, and reverence. Please partake of these and accept them kindly, and may you accomplish the fruition of my deeds! Thus entrusting the activity. All dharmas arise from causes. The Tathagata has explained those causes. The cessation of those dharmas is the cessation of causes. The Great Ascetic also said this. Do no evil, practice all good. Subdue your mind, this is the teaching of the Buddhas. Good is the discipline of the body, good is the discipline of speech. Good is the discipline of the mind, good is the discipline in all places. The Bhikshu who is protected in all ways, he is liberated from all suffering. All dharmas are like reflections, pure, clear, and without defilement. Unseizable, unspeakable, arising from causes and actions. Without self-nature, without a place, thus knowing all dharmas. For the benefit of sentient beings, perform unparalleled deeds, therefore be born as a son of protection. Thus giving the Dharma. Oath-bound protectors, please accept this vast offering of tormas, may the Buddha's teachings flourish, may the world be filled with auspiciousness, and may we, teachers and students, and our entourage, be well. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May all obstacles to practice be pacified, and may all wishes that accord with the Dharma be fulfilled as desired.' Say this, and with fists crossed, flick the cymbals with the middle and index fingers to make a sound. Invite them to depart with 'Om Dasha Dika Loka Pala Sapariwara Gachchha'. Second, offer to the bhutas. As before, purify and bless, and from your heart, radiate light, inviting the assembly of gods, nagas, yakshas, and bhutas with their retinues, with the vajra-gathering mudra, saying 'Om Vajra Samaja'. Ring the bell, 'Gods and non-gods, yakshas, hungry and pot-bellied ones, birds and good wings, decaying bodies, gandharvas, rakshasas, and hosts of demons, and those who dwell on the earth, possessing magical powers, with sons and daughters and servants, I kneel on the ground, with palms joined, I pray to you, listen and come here to benefit. Om Sarva Loka Kakara Ehe Ehi' Invite. Offer a seat with the lotus mudra. Offer with mudras, such as argham, and contemplate offering the torma, with the mudra of the treasury of space, 'Om Deva Naga Gandharva Asura Garuda Kinnara Mahoraga Manushya Amanushya Sapariwara Namah Sarva Tathagata', etc., offer three times. With the ringing of the bell, 'Wherever there are bhutas, on the summit of Mount Meru, in joyful groves, in the abodes of the gods, on the eastern and western mountains, in the houses of the sun and moon, on all the mountains, especially wherever they dwell on the precious islands, in all the rivers and at the confluences of rivers, on the lakes and ponds, on the banks of the water, wherever they dwell in the cool springs, in the villages and cattle pens, in the empty cities, in the empty houses and the abodes of the gods, in the monasteries and stupas, in the places of asceticism and the elephant stables, wherever they dwell in the royal enclosures, at the crossroads of three roads and at the crossroads of four roads, wherever they are on the great roads and under a single tree, in the great charnel grounds and great forests, in the places of lions, bears, and wild animals, wherever they dwell in the great and terrifying wilderness, wherever they dwell on the supreme islands, wherever they dwell on Mount Meru and in the charnel grounds, may they be utterly delighted and satisfied, with garlands, flowers, incense, and perfumes, with praise, tormas, and butter lamps, offered with reverence, may they partake of these and be well pleased, and may they grant me the fruition of my deeds.' Recite. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
