Hrih! For the purpose of swiftly attaining accomplishments, you all take vows and samayas. Supreme Bodhi, Emaho! Thus, grant the instruction. Then, this should be said: Now, all of you, without distraction, with one-pointed focus, in the sky in front, upon the Protector Amitayus and Wisdom, surrounded by all the objects of refuge like gathering clouds, visualize them manifestly present, and recite this refuge: Namo! Lama Sugata and retinue, Three Jewels and Three Roots, Vidyadhara Life Deity assembly, I and the six realms of beings take refuge. Then, taking the Pratimoksha vows: In the presence of the supreme Lama, all misdeeds done by body, speech, and mind, abandon the ten non-virtues and accomplish the ten virtues, Upasaka, Shramanera, Bhikshu, and the Pratimoksha Bodhisattva vows, I will abide in and protect. Taking the aspiring and entering mind: Parents, sentient beings of the six realms, for the sake of liberating them from the ocean of samsara, I generate the supreme Bodhicitta. From now until unsurpassed Bodhi, all sentient beings of the six realms, those not liberated, I will liberate, those not freed, I will free, I will establish them in nirvana. Then, taking the secret mantra samayas: Hold the Three Jewels, do not abandon, practice, the Three Kayas, the teachers of the Five Families, I will also protect all the samayas. In the samaya of the Buddha Jewel, abandon faults and cultivate qualities. In the samaya of the Dharma Jewel, write, offer, give, read, and recite letters. In the samaya of the Sangha Jewel, hold vows and abandon wrong views. In the samaya of the Dharmakaya, meditate on Kadag, beyond mind, Trekchö. In the samaya of the Sambhogakaya, rely on the deity, retinue, and bindu. In the samaya of the Nirmanakaya, according to what is suitable, practice benefiting others. Vajra, Ratna, Padma, Karma families, Tathagata and so on, of the Five Families, do not abandon the samayas, protect them as they truly are. The meaning of true, fearless, like a vajra, may it swiftly manifest for the benefit of beings. Thus, the order of the samayas is explained. Showing the signs of accomplishment: Throw a wooden splinter onto a painted mandala depicting the five families' seed syllables, and say these words: Lama Amitayus, Rigdzin Life Mandala Deities, Heroes, Dakinis, Dharma Protectors, heed! For whatever activity is to be accomplished, may my wooden splinter fall upon it! Prati ghrihana sindhi stvam! Thus, throw it. The four directions: pacifying, increasing, magnetizing, and wrathful. Introducing the deity, mantra, and samadhi. May one obtain little sickness, long life, and siddhis. May the four types of obstacles be pacified. To those who have arrived at the four boundaries. The root is shown and the outer disappears. Recite the body ritual, reversing obstacles, and the three 'bhung'. Then, tie a five-colored thread with a vajra knot around the disciple's arm, and recite: Om Vajrakrodha Hayagriva Hum Phet! All demons, obstacles, and spirits, Raksha Raksha!
