Think of its form in this way. Mentally separate each of the thirty-six impure substances into extremely small particles, and deeply recognize the nature of the body from within. Similarly, the hard parts of the body, such as flesh and bones, are the earth element; warmth is the fire element; breath is the wind element; blood and urine are the water element; and pores are the space element. Separate them one by one, and because their characteristics are not the same, like poisonous snakes gathered in one place, observe the nature of the body, which is like accumulation and consumption, with the eye of wisdom. There is no fixed duration for meditation sessions; meditate until it clearly appears in your mind. This is what is said in the Sutra Pitaka: Just as when rice, barley, beans, and other things are piled together, a wise person will separate them one by one, thinking, 'This is rice, this is barley,' so too, separate and analyze the aggregates, elements, and sources. This is how to understand the many ways in which aggregates exist within. First, contemplate the form aggregate in this way. After clearly contemplating in this way once, for the feeling aggregate, also separate the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and indifference, and the many feelings of seeing beautiful things and hearing pleasant sounds in pleasure. And for each of them, analyze the many internal feelings. After completing that, for the perception aggregate, also separate the various thoughts of good, bad, and neutral, and their branches, such as pillars and vases, horses and elephants, men and women, and other various thoughts. Because there are many different kinds of thoughts, generate the certainty that this perception aggregate is also many different dharmas. After completing that, for what is called the formation aggregate, the formations that are concomitant with the mind, the mental factors other than feeling and perception, such as attention and contact, and the various arising, are also numerous. For example, in virtuous mental factors, there are many such as faith and conscientiousness, while non-virtuous mental factors are represented by lack of faith, shamelessness, and attachment and aversion, and there are many different kinds. Among them, even a single thought, such as attachment and non-attachment, if divided by object, time, and manner, will become immeasurable and boundless. Therefore, contemplate that this formation aggregate is also many different dharmas. For the consciousness aggregate, also the six consciousnesses from eye consciousness to mind consciousness.
