And. Tasya kāntiṃ bilumbati. It diminishes its beauty. Tena sārdhambi gṛhṇāti. It defeats it in competition. Tulānte nādhirohati. It is more beautiful than it in comparison. Tatpada vyāṃ padaṃ dhattte. It places its foot in its footsteps. Tasya kākṣāṃbi gāhate. It enters into its power. Tama nvetya nubadhnāti. It follows it and binds it. Tacchīlantannniṣedhate. It prevents its nature. Tasya cānu karotīti. The sounds that mean "imitating it." Śabdāḥ sādṛśya sūcinaḥ. The sounds are indicative of similarity. Thus it is said in the Mirror of Poetry. The sounds that indicate similarity are said to be sixty-five in the Tibetan commentaries. "Like," "as," etc., are actual words of similarity. Furthermore, phrases such as "Your face surpasses the radiance of the moon," "competes with the moon," "rivals the radiance of the moon," etc., are constructed in such a way that their meaning is understood to be similar. Although only this much is said in the text of poetry, it is understood that there are many ways to express similarity through the nuances of language. Bhūtaḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,bhūtaḥ,已成) means "become." Pratikāśa (藏文,梵文天城体,pratikāśa,顯現) means "distinctly clear." It is known that there are many such examples. For example, "become" is like, "Your face has become like the moon." Furthermore, Pitṛnibhaḥ putra. A son like his father. Similarly, if nibhaḥ is taken as a word of similarity, then "a daughter like her mother," "a son like a god," etc. Pitṛkalpaḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,pitṛkalpaḥ,如父) means "like a father." Mātṛkalpaḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,mātṛkalpaḥ,如母) means "like a mother." It is said in the commentary on the Abhidharmakośa that one should understand the others by analogy. The names of the individual ornaments within simile, etc., are found in the bilingual edition of the Mirror of Poetry, the Collected Works of Situ Panchen, etc., and should be understood from the Chinese texts. In general, if one examines the Tibetan translations of Chinese texts such as the Three Collections of Mañjuśrī, the Jātakamālā, the Kalpalatā, etc., then it is very important to gain experience in most of the names, the style of the verses, and the arrangement of the meter. Arthālaṃkāraḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,arthālaṃkāraḥ,意义的装饰) means "ornament of meaning." In the last chapter of the Mirror of Poetry, Śabdālaṃkāraḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,śabdālaṃkāraḥ,声音的装饰) means "ornament of sound." Sukaraḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,sukaraḥ,易作) Margaḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,margaḥ,道路) Duṣkaraḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,duṣkaraḥ,難作) means "easy to do" and "difficult path." Prahelikāḥ (藏文,梵文天城体,prahelikāḥ,谜语) means "sixteen examples of riddles" and the meaning...
