7th, not performing meaningless or combining mantras, etc. 8th, even if one obtains clairvoyance, not proclaiming oneself, and not prophesying about becoming desirous men and women, etc. 9th, not clinging to even a particle of dharma, striving to cultivate the completely secluded Prajnaparamita. 10th, constantly being free from strife and having a firm mind of loving-kindness, turning away from the Hinayana. 11th, wishing to attain the state of a fully enlightened Buddha. 12th, constantly having a mind devoted to explaining the causes for attaining that. 13th, because of not obtaining the power of special virtuous roots, completely abandoning the border regions of barbarians where the Dharma does not flourish. 14th, having obtained firm conviction in the place of the three wisdoms, being unwavering like Mount Meru. 15th, being able to give up one's life for the sake of the Dharma. 16th, constantly striving in profound yoga, thereby reversing the perception of clinging to ordinary form, these are the sixteen. Furthermore, in other sutras, it is prohibited to abide by combining and following the skandhas, dhatus, ayatanas, and dependent origination. The sutra says that one does not abide in combining and following the words of thieves. The thief who steals virtuous wealth refers to obstacles, which are indicated by the name of thief. Similarly, by the term "army," one clings to the quantity of the accumulation of merit such as generosity. By the term "village," it refers to the senses. By the term "city," it refers to the basis of the senses. By the term "town," it refers to the objects of the senses. By the term "king and minister," it refers to "I" and "mine." By the term "words of battle," it indicates abandoning enemies and relatives. The sutra says that one should not cling to these things that are indicated by the term "words," which are merely names without actual meaning. Through the key point of non-clinging, it directly points out that the clinging to villages, etc., and the senses, etc., which they represent, disappears, so it repeatedly says that these are "words," and one diligently engages in them with one's body. Not doing these also implies this, because "words" follow desire and are a sign of representing the inner state. Combining and following refers to abiding in the clinging to that object, and continuously clinging to that object and abiding. The sutra says that these are absent. These are not mentioned here, but instead of them, what is said here is not performing mantras that involve violent actions, etc. These are classifications and summaries.

However one distinguishes, one should understand that they are similar in meaning as signs. Then, in order to cultivate the path of meditation, the signs of non-retrogression are explained. There are two types: the path of meditation with signs and its signs. The first, in detail, explains the nature of the path of meditation, its definition or reason, and its three divisions. The first, here, is indicated by the verse "form, feeling, etc." The nature of form, etc., is profound because it cannot find depth or place by way of an object of focus, that is, it is emptiness. Therefore, there is no sign that generates a mind that focuses on it. Therefore, the arising of objects dependent on it is extremely peaceful, abiding in the nature of possessing the three liberations, which is the suchness free from addition and subtraction. The wisdom of the path of meditation that follows it is also so profound. Moreover, here, being established as profound is explained from the perspective of definition. In the stage of the decisive factor, cutting off the addition and imputation to suchness, repeatedly contemplating. In the path of seeing, directly realizing suchness. After realizing the path of meditation, through repeated practice, it becomes deeper and deeper than before, thereby realizing it most definitely. Therefore, this realization is established as profound, because it is the path of practice after seeing. These are not explicitly stated in the sutra, but should be understood through the meaning of the divisions shown. The divisions of the path of meditation are twofold: direct statement and refutation of objections. The first, the path of meditation is not momentary like the path of seeing, but continuous, therefore, for the three types of objects to be abandoned, great, medium, and small, it is divided into nine, and the antidotes arise sequentially. In the extensive sutra, taking the great affliction of great afflictions as an example, it is said that giving alms without prajnaparamita is better than giving alms for as many kalpas as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River. Similarly, taking the small affliction of small afflictions as an example, it is said that listening to prajnaparamita is more beneficial. Similarly, the medium is gradually increased, and finally it is said that the small affliction of small afflictions is countable, measurable, and limited. And its antidote, the great affliction of great afflictions, is countless, immeasurable, and unlimited. Moreover, for each of the nine paths of meditation, it is said that the fruit of merit is countless, immeasurable, and unlimited. The sutra says: As I, the Teacher, have spoken, seeking the meaning,
