Encountering the Buddhas is the three supports of the path. The path is hearing the supreme vehicle's Dharma from that Buddha, generating faith and aspiration in that vehicle, and arising with wisdom that thoroughly understands the meaning. In the pure realms, one obtains immeasurable doors of samadhi, obtains immeasurable doors of dharani, and ultimately swiftly attains great Bodhi. Thus, the merit of holding two verses of the holy Dharma is so vast, what need is there to mention others? One should generate the wisdom of being skilled in holding all the Dharmas and well explaining their meaning. The intention of flexible translation is to prevent some non-Buddhists from belittling the Buddha's teachings, thinking they are easy to understand, and other inverted views. Therefore, they are translated into other obscure languages, and taught with flexible intentions. One should know that their meaning is different from the literal meaning. For example, it is said: "Knowing what is without essence as essence, being greatly disturbed by afflictions, dwelling well in what is inverted, one will attain supreme Bodhi." What is the meaning of this? Explaining its meaning: 'Sa' (སར།) has both the meaning of essence and distraction, so in the training of the mind, one should know that the absence of distraction is the essence and strive for it. In the training of discipline, those who are disturbed by difficult afflictions, and those who hold onto the inverted views of purity, happiness, permanence, and self, if they can dwell well in the training of wisdom that is transformed into inversion, then by this cause, they will attain supreme Bodhi. This is the intention of flexibility. Thus, the so-called "father and mother are to be killed" refers to the intention of abandoning desire and ignorance. All such things are called the intention of flexible translation. Thus, taking the way of showing intention and flexible intention as an example, all the teachings of the scriptures that need intention have three things that harm reality, which is the provisional meaning. The opposite of this, those that are established by ultimate reason, should be known as the definitive meaning. In addition, those that are spoken only for the need to tame sentient beings, such as the Buddha himself saying "I carry on my back," and so on, similar to teaching the ten causes of karma, are not as literal. The Buddha has no faults of karma and suffering, but for the sake of taming sentient beings.

It should be understood as stated in the Sutra of Inconceivable Secrets, for the necessity of showing the way, and also to understand the differences between the teachings of the higher and lower vehicles, thereby entering into the ultimate meaning. For such a meaning, one should not rely on the provisional meaning, but should rely on the definitive meaning. Within that definitive meaning, there are two: one is grasping the general meaning, which becomes the object of conceptual thought; the other is that which is inexpressible in its own characteristics, self-aware, and becomes the object of non-conceptual wisdom. Among these, remaining in a state where no extremes such as affirmation and negation, existence and non-existence, are established, one has not yet transcended the realm of consciousness. When affirmation, negation, removal, and establishment do not exist, and the play of grasping and being grasped is pacified like the nature of reality, and the meaning is clearly manifest, then one obtains the sublime appearance of wisdom and penetrates the depths of the Dharma. Therefore, one should not rely on consciousness, but should rely on wisdom. As previously stated, if one possesses the four reliances, just as one extracts butter from milk and ghee from butter, one can comprehend the ultimate intention of the Tathagata's teachings, and by mastering the spontaneously arising wisdom that is equal to space, the eight great treasures of fearlessness will be opened. What are these eight? As stated in the Extensive Play Sutra: the treasure of mindfulness, which is without forgetfulness; the treasure of intelligence, which thoroughly distinguishes with wisdom; the treasure of realization, which comprehends the meaning of all the sutras; the treasure of retention, which holds all that is heard; the treasure of eloquence, which satisfies all sentient beings with excellent speech; the treasure of Dharma, which completely protects the sacred Dharma; the treasure of bodhicitta, which does not sever the lineage of the Three Jewels; and the treasure of practice, which obtains tolerance of the unborn Dharma. Thus, these eight great treasures will be obtained. As it is said, the individual who has obtained the fearlessness endowed with the eight treasures, and who has obtained perfect knowledge, will uphold the Buddha's teachings, make clear to sentient beings what to accept and reject, and will ultimately attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. The details can be understood from the Wisdom Sword of Decisive Meaning. The section on the four perfect knowledges is concluded. Thus, regarding the ten fields of knowledge that should be mastered by the wise,
