五种决意是:欲、胜解、忆念、等持、智慧。其中,欲是对所欲之事物,使之与之相应,是发起精进的所依。胜解是对所决定之事物,如是执持,具有不可夺之作用。忆念是对串习之义不忘失,具有不散乱之作用。等持是对所观察之事物,心一境性,是智慧之所依,具有此作用。智慧是对所观察之法,善加辨别,是遣除犹豫之作用。以上这十者,称为心之多大地十。在十一种善心所中,信是对真实之处,心生欢喜与信赖,是欲之所依。正念是对应取应舍之处,谨慎认真,具有成办有寂之善的作用。轻安是身心堪能为善所用,能调柔,是摧毁烦恼之处。舍是无有贪嗔痴,心如实安住,具有不分别烦恼境的作用。知惭是以自或法为因,对不应作之事心生羞耻,是防护恶行的所依,具有此作用。知愧是以他或世间为因,对不应作之事心生羞耻的作用。无贪是对有及有之资具不贪著,能使不入于恶行。无嗔是对众生及痛苦之法,无有恼害之心,能使不入于恶行。无痴是以个别观察之方式,对义理不愚昧,能使不入于恶行。不害是属于无嗔之一分,是慈悲之心,具有不损害他人的作用。精进是对善法生起欢喜之心而趣入,能成办一切善法。不善心所中,有六根本烦恼,二十随烦恼。首先,六根本烦恼中的无明是不了解业果、谛、三宝之理,能使一切烦恼生起。贪是对三界有漏之蕴生起贪著,是

The five ascertainments are: desire, conviction, mindfulness, samadhi, and wisdom. Among them, desire is to make the desired object correspond to it, and it is the basis for initiating diligence. Conviction is to hold on to the determined object as it is, and it has the function of being unshakeable. Mindfulness is to not forget the familiar meaning, and it has the function of not being distracted. Samadhi is to have a one-pointed mind on the object of observation, and it is the basis of wisdom, having this function. Wisdom is to thoroughly distinguish the observed Dharma, and it has the function of dispelling hesitation. These ten above are called the ten great grounds of mind. Among the eleven virtuous mental factors, faith is to have joy and trust in the true object, and it is the basis of desire. Mindfulness is to be cautious and earnest about what should be taken and what should be abandoned, and it has the function of accomplishing the good of existence and peace. Pliancy is the ability of body and mind to be used for good, and it can be tamed, and it is the place to destroy afflictions. Equanimity is the mind abiding in its natural state without greed, hatred, or delusion, and it has the function of not distinguishing the objects of affliction. Humility is to be ashamed of what should not be done because of oneself or the Dharma, and it is the basis for preventing evil deeds, having this function. Conscientiousness is the function of being ashamed of what should not be done because of others or the world. Non-attachment is to not be attached to existence and the resources of existence, and it can prevent one from entering into evil deeds. Non-hatred is to not have a mind of torment towards sentient beings and the Dharma of suffering, and it can prevent one from entering into evil deeds. Non-delusion is to not be ignorant of the meaning through individual observation, and it can prevent one from entering into evil deeds. Non-harming is a part of non-hatred, it is the mind of compassion, and it has the function of not harming others. Diligence is to enter into virtue with a joyful mind, and it can accomplish all virtues. Among the non-virtuous mental factors, there are six root afflictions and twenty secondary afflictions. First, ignorance among the six root afflictions is not understanding the principles of karma and its effects, the Truths, and the Three Jewels, and it can cause all afflictions to arise.
