Speaking of the ground, entering into it, perform the boundary, put it in a frame, and seal it with ten Hūṃs (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: 吽). If the above substances are not found, then take whatever clean cloths are not said to be impermissible to discard, according to the above ritual, this is examining and searching for substances. Second, examining the ground and showing the ground ritual: First, examining the ground, for peaceful places, the peak of mountains where deities gather and the foot of snowy mountains; for wrathful places, the dwelling of Rakshasas, red cliffs and charnel grounds, etc.; the places of the Vajra family, etc., or the four activities respectively; in general, places that appear like the sky is a wheel, the earth is a lotus, the space in between is like nectar falling, etc., according to the examination and instructions between heaven and earth, this is examining. On that basis, for the ritual of the ground, there is summoning the ground, digging about a cubit and examining it, and if it is suitable, then put the treasure there and compact it, burn, scatter, wash, and purify it with a pure mind, sprinkle it slowly and evenly with water of five scents, observe it with the samadhi of the deities, and dispel obstacles with the Vajra gait, bless the phurba (Tibetan: ཕུར་པ།) as swirling nectar and then stab it in, thus occupying the ground, and when drawing the mandala, place the earth goddess as a witness, and perform the ground ritual through seven methods, and in that place, on the ground of the charnel ground, make a platform one fathom square, as clear as the surface of a mirror. Second, the method of actual practice: two types, the preparation for entering practice, and the manner of actual practice. The first includes setting boundaries against obstacles, and building the mandala and empowerment for favorable conditions. First, even after offering the torma to the bhūtas, perform the activities of secret meaning. Therefore, it shows three boundaries: outer, inner, and intermediate. First, offer a vast torma to the common and uncommon assembly of bhūtas or the guests of phenomenal existence, and thus set the outer boundary, and also set the intermediate boundary by suppressing the oath-breakers and demons, then, in order to prevent those who are not authorized from seeing the profound mandala, set the boundary extremely strictly, this is the activity of secret meaning, among which the seven boundaries that will be explained in detail should be performed properly. Alternatively, it is also acceptable to offer tormas to the bhūtas that vultures watch and expel them, and perform the three activities of setting the secret boundary for those who are not authorized to watch.

Oh! First, in order to accumulate merit, arrange the mandala of offerings and the five excellent tormas, bless them with the pride of your own deity, offer them to the guests who serve the Three Jewels, and pray that there will be no obstacles to practice and that accomplishments will be attained. Then, for the arising torma, also offer one torma to the guests of merit, such as the seventy glorious protectors of the general pure lineage, and entrust them with activities. Especially for the unruly ones such as the retinue of the Four Great Kings, in order to prevent those who appear to be watching the secret practice like vultures, install the Four Great Kings in the four directions with four pegs, offer four parts of torma and puja, and entrust them with the activities of the boundary. Then, dedicate one part of the torma to the guests of compassion of the six realms. Also, dedicate one part of the torma to the special guests of the occasion, your own protectors and the local earth deities and place deities, and entrust them with the activities of assisting companions. Also, dedicate two parts of the torma to the guests of demons, obstacles, and karmic debts. Among them, dedicate one torma to those with past habitual tendencies, and dedicate one torma to the immediate adverse conditions and obstacles, and issue a true command. Thus, offering tormas to the four types of guests according to the ritual that appears in the commentary is the giving of the outer torma and the activities of the outer boundary. Then, for the intermediate boundary, dig a triangular pit at a distance of one cubit measured from the door. In a bad skull, summon and dissolve the image of the dam sri (evil spirit), bind it with black and white threads, fumigate it with gugul (incense), strike it with white mustard seeds, smear it with blood, smear it with poison, and plant one immovable peg, visualizing it as the protector. First, seal the mouth, perform the dance of the four activities, and pray that there will be no obstacles. Then, erect a door plaque, draw the body of Yama, the Lord of Dharma, who controls the five classes, on a cloth from the charnel ground, generate and dissolve it there, install it, please it with tormas, and entrust it with responsibilities by speaking words of allocation. Third, for the blocking of the inner boundary, gather those who were previously mixed inside, place those who were not mixed outside, and block the inner boundary. Among them, the boundary of self-nature is that conceptual thought is an obstacle. Knowing that the obstacle arises from one's own mind, but the mind has no self-nature, do not conceptualize in the nature of reality.
