If a permanent thing that can produce results, produces results, then it is impossible to produce them gradually. Secondly, even if it produces self-grasping consciousness as the objective condition, all objects of consciousness do not arise simultaneously, because other factors that coexist with that objective condition, such as the senses and attention, help in different ways to produce self-grasping consciousness, so the results or objects of consciousness of this permanent thing, such as the vajra, arise gradually. If someone says: In the period when the former has not yet arisen, that objective condition, together with other factors that exist simultaneously, again becomes the cause of producing other things. Then, the view that the objective condition is permanent should also be known and said that each previous and subsequent moment is different, because the previous one has disappeared and a new one has arisen. It is not permissible to hold the same thing, which is no different before and after, as being sequential again and again. Moreover, the fault of not being able to grasp by knowing simultaneously, in this view that permanent things are objective conditions, is as mentioned before. Secondly, establishing the two aspects from the sign of memory, first refuting the views of others, then establishing one's own view, and demonstrating its rationality. First, the scripture on valid cognition says: Also from later memory. Therefore, in the period of experiencing the object, not only does it appear as two, but also in later memory, it is established as having two aspects, so it can be established. On this, some commentators of the Compendium say: It is unreasonable to say that establishing the two aspects merely means that consciousness is the knower and the object is the known. Just as fire is hot, merely because consciousness experiences or cognizes the object by its own nature or self, this has already been established from the herdsmen of the world to the common ground of inner and outer. For such two aspects, no one would disagree or argue, just as proving that fire is hot, what is the use of proving it in the treatise? However, for those who think that the consciousness that grasps the object is merely the object of consciousness, and does not have the appearance and grasping aspect that corresponds to the nature of the blue thing, and thus directly grasps the object, the object of consciousness itself has two aspects, which can be proved by accurately recalling the previous experience. Because anything is accurately that
