If it is said that even if there is a consciousness that appears as various, can it also be established in terms of meaning? In general, it is not denied in any aspect of meaning and consciousness that many things are merely labeled as one. However, in the context of terminology, it is different for one consciousness to appear as various and for one thing with various aspects to be one. For example, for eye consciousness, various things such as blue and yellow appear simultaneously, and this is experienced as such by the single consciousness born from the sense faculty, without any temporal sequence or other differences in the continuum. In this way, those appearances of blue, etc., do not independently rely on the nature of consciousness as other differences of consciousness. Because at that time it is not possible to separately isolate the consciousness that appears yellow and point out "this is the consciousness that appears blue," it is only the clear and aware experience of consciousness, and it is not possible to distinguish and see it. Because the eye consciousness in the continuum of a sentient being can grasp any various objects that are close to it in the same way, and there is no need for separate consciousnesses that grasp blue, etc. individually, it is called one consciousness grasping various objects, just as one mirror reflects various objects. Like this, it is impossible for one thing to exist without the interruption of various aspects, because blue will only produce the grasping of blue, and one blue cannot produce various things. If it is said: Distinguishing blue, etc., Is the same for variegated cloth, etc. Like this, why can't the seen blue, etc. be distinguished separately for consciousness as well? Just as seeing the arrangement of a variegated object, can grasping it also be distinguished in that way? If that is the case, when observing it with a general mind as an object, this is the consciousness that sees blue, this is the consciousness that sees yellow, this is the consciousness that sees a square, etc., distinguishing in this way will involve that part of the external object, and not dividing it on the nature of consciousness and making it different, because consciousness is not of a nature that exists in a divided way when the object is different. If it is possible to definitely distinguish like the object, then for consciousness, it is possible to distinguish color and shape, and it is also possible to distinguish the boundaries of the edges. If it is not possible to distinguish that way, then distinguishing by color and shape, etc., actually refers to the object, and not to consciousness.

also transforms. For example, although a horse and an ox are not one, the appearance of a horse and an ox in a dream is not different from knowing them. Therefore, there is no contradiction in both appearances being the substance of knowing, and when experiencing them with simultaneous knowledge, they appear separately in the face of self-awareness, but the experiencer, self-awareness, is one and cannot be separated into individual entities. Therefore, it is reasonable that one knowledge appears as various objects of grasping and grasping subjects. Therefore, if we measure based on the existence of external objects, without distinguishing between the apprehended aspect and the apprehending aspect, and without investigation, in accordance with the world, there is nothing unreasonable in the general statement that one mind cognizes many things simultaneously. Because the mind in the continuum of one person is not interrupted, the simultaneous appearance of many things is proven by experience. If each object is completely severed into different minds to see, then this state of various minds experiencing simultaneously would not be possible, but internally, one knowledge without clear and distinct differences experiences, which is proven by self-awareness. Therefore, the statement that one mind sees various things is reasonable. Otherwise, like the experience of many people, it would become independent, and the statement that one continuum experiences with knowledge itself would not exist. In this regard, the view of this text is that those who proclaim the non-duality of various things say so based on this statement. The so-called non-duality of various things means that although there are various apprehended aspects, the apprehending aspect is considered to be one entity. If this reasoning is used to prove that the apprehending aspect is one, then the apprehended aspect will also become one, because it is the substance of knowledge, and there are no other differences to rely on. In that case, the statement that an egg is broken in half would also become without error. Therefore, this reasoning only explains the principle that acknowledging one mind and acknowledging one thing are different in terms of expression, but it is not to prove the principle of the non-duality of various things. Therefore, as long as the apprehended aspect appears as various, then its apprehending aspect also appears as many. Because if one of them does not exist, then both will disappear. As it is said, the reasoning is the same. Such various apprehended aspects and apprehending aspects, like external objects, have no separable differences, but are merely clear and distinct appearances of knowledge, and are not established as the apprehended and the apprehending.
