Like some reasons that have already been established, these two reasons are because, the object's own characteristic does not deceive, hence it is believed that it can understand it without error. Since this is the case, therefore sounds are all aimed at excluding or distinguishing non-speakable things, by its power, things like bottles that can do things like carrying water are established in consciousness, and because they cling to the appearance and judgment of it as one, because it is the state of relying on self-characteristics. The so-called reliance is the meaning of connection, like this, through conceptual connection, sound can make people understand the object's own characteristics, therefore, even if the connection between name and meaning is not established in fact, it exists in front of conceptualization, so conceptualization will not deceive in understanding the meaning to be expressed, just like setting up a doorplate. Third, to eliminate the dispute over the view that sound enters by exclusion, there is no fault in admitting exclusion, and there is no reason to establish the view that wants something other than exclusion. In the first point, there is the fault of conceptualizations depending on each other, and the fact that sound enters through exclusion does not cover everything, if examined, there is the fault of the commonality and exclusion being the same, the subsequent conceptualization of sound becomes a meaningless fault, and the five disputes that there is no common basis. First, it shows that the fault applies to the other party itself, this is to say that there is no fault in saying exclusion. First, if according to your saying of exclusion, saying that the sound "tree" holds the meaning of tree by returning from non-tree, then tree and non-tree both depend on each other, if one is not held, the other cannot be held alone, when holding tree, one must grasp non-tree and cut it off, if one holds non-tree, then before grasping tree, it cannot be set as non-tree. Therefore, when holding one, the other does not exist, and these two conceptualizations cannot be held by one conceptualization at the same time, which will eventually lead to both not being held, therefore saying that labeling a tree after cutting off non-tree is impossible, some worldly teachers, such as young Mani and others, say this. Those who say this think that when labeling "tree", does this label distinguish non-tree, or does it think it does not distinguish? If it distinguishes, then before holding the meaning of tree, how do you know what is non-tree? Because you have already admitted that you do not understand this. If the label does not exclude those non-trees from the tree, then tree

It is impossible for those who name a tree to completely abandon non-trees and cling to trees. For example, saying the differences of trees, such as firs, does not cut down trees, so wanting to cut down trees and adding words like firs is meaningless. Similarly, if the word "tree" cannot cut down other things like water, then saying "cut down a tree" would also become fetching water. If, according to the commonality theorists, the name of a tree is not established by relying on the exclusion of other things, that is, it does not need to be established. Rather, one clearly points out a single, obvious tree object in front that possesses commonality, and then expresses it merely by establishing the name "this is a tree." Later, when naming, one will also recognize that obvious thing with commonality, and therefore there is no similar fault, if one thinks so. Then, when naming, for the thing in front, does one add "this is also a tree," which is a non-pervasive exclusion, or does one add "this is the only tree," which is an other-pervasive exclusion? If it is the former, because it does not exclude the possibility that other things are also trees, if those cannot be excluded from the name, then the fault of "etc." remains. If it is the latter, if the pervasive exclusion cannot grasp the meaning of tree, then one cannot avoid the fault of "if one cannot grasp the pervasive exclusion, how does one understand?" Therefore, in either case, the previous fault cannot be avoided and remains. Furthermore, if one names only the self-characteristic, then it will not follow in other times and places, so one will not understand other things as trees. If one thinks that it will not be so because it possesses kind and thing, then this has already been refuted above. If one thinks that by naming one thing, one can understand all similar kinds, then one needs to distinguish between similar and dissimilar kinds, and by excluding the dissimilar kinds, the word becomes a word with pervasive exclusion. Secondly, for the view that speaks of exclusion, the situation where there is no such fault is: like Shapa trees and fir trees, understanding all trees as one kind, this knowledge called tree recognition is merely, for the case of that one kind, the recognizer who establishes the name existing or creating in the mind stream, grasping the tree recognition that clings to branches, and the obvious things that are different from that, opposite to that, and become the cause of recognizing non-trees, before the name, without relying on the function of words, but separately by oneself.
